I'm sure most of you guys know that Thor was dead during Civil War in the comics and Tony tried to get leverage by creating a robot version of Thor to instil fear to get people to join the reg side.

Do you guys think this could be a possibility? Would Hemsworth do it? Evans made a little cameo in TDW that I don't think counted as one of his movie slates. Maybe Hemsworth would do a quick cameo as robot thor and he could kill one of the combatants, maybe even someone as big as Black Widow.
I'd love the idea but I know it could end up being really hard to pull off without it looking too silly and it probably wouldn't make sense for Tony to be building sentient robots again right after his massive **** up with Ultron.

What do you guy's think? Would they put Ragnarok in Civil War and if they did how and what would he do?

I don't think they'd do that. Evans came was less than a days work and amounted to 20 second of screen time. Thor as Ragnarok would have to bigger commitment and I really don't think they want to go that far in making Tony a villain where he clones (or makes a robot version) of his friends to hunt other friends down and kill them.

Yeah it seems really unlikely but it's fun to speculate right? Eva's cameo in TDW was a massive secret, maybe Hemsworth's could be too.

It's not likely. For one, I'm sure Hemsworth would like to go do other things before the big one-two-three punch of Ragnarok and The Infinity War, and secondly, this movie already has an insane amount of heroes.

I don't think it'll happen unless they come up with an excuse to get another actor to play him.

I think that would be confusing for the general audience that doesn't know anything about the Thor comics (99% of people who will see the movie).

What if the character (Ragnarok) is very badly received by the audience and less than a year later Marvel is like "Here's our next film, Thor: Ragnarok"?

Yeah I highly doubt we WILL see Clor.
Even if Clor were an Ultron creation in UoA, I doubt it will happen the way it did in the Comics.
In the comics, Ragnarok happens before Civil War, and Lord Thor is "asleep" and the need to MAKE Clor happens.
In the MCU Civil War happens before Ragnarok.

That doesn't necessarily matter in the film. If Thor leaves the team and goes back to Asgard at the end of AOU the same basic rationale ("We should have our own Thor for when we need him") could still apply.

There's a lot of reasons Ragnarok should not be in the movie but "It would change stuff from the comics!" isn't a strong argument.

The whole "Avengers Disassembled" arc was PART of Civil War. Ragnarok was part of Disassembled.
It was when Odin Died, Thor took over as King, and giving up his humanity where he lost the ability to comprehend the human way of thinking and Ruling EARTH. It all lead to Civil War and Thor not being interested in their Battle when he came back from Ragnarok more powerful than Odin ever was.
Unless some of this happens in AoU, I highly doubt we'll actually see Clor, MAYBE some kind of plans to build a Clone/Cyborg but not THE Clor from the comics.

Movie release time doesn't always coincide with MCU time does it?

No, but the reason Thor was Cloned was because he was absent from Earth because of Ragnarok. He couldn't be contacted in any way.

Am I the only one who thinks this would be cool? Of course it's counterproductive based on time and how bad it would make tony look (could be a good thing). There's already so much civil war has to accomplish that adding clor would literally just be fan service but is it really just fan service? In this day and age of instant information how much of the general audience goes on YouTube or Wikipedia and read/learn about civil war from the comics? Nowadays in the age of superheroes we're in now, the GA are starting to look into comics the movies are based on. Especially the younger demographic. So clor might be more than just nerdy fan service. But beside that tangent yeah, I just thought it would be a fun topic to chat about. If clor was in how would they do him?

@Vartha I thought Thor died, at least to the other heroes knowledge during civil war? So as long as Thor is "dead" or refuses to come back to earth, that's all they excuse the writers would need to include clor.

Thor was reborn in the 616, he reshaped himself basically.
See Thor went through Trials that Odin did to gain the Odin Force. He had to TOP each trial to gain that kind of power. He not only STARTED the last Ragnarok, he also stopped the cosmic CYCLE of Ragnarok, something neither Bor or Odin could do. See, to US Thor died but he was in a "God Sleep" (different from the Odin Sleep) waiting to be called back, so he could decide what direction to take with the Asgardians.

See he wanted the Asgardians to live a normal life, one not expecting to be restarted by Ragnarok if they screwed up.

All they knew on Earth is that Ragnarok had started during Avengers Disassembled then Civil War started

EDIT:I CAN see Clor BUT I see it as some kind of Plan Tony never began but Ultron would try, eventually creating Vision instead

No thanks. I get absolutely nothing out of a movie version of that abomination. He's known for killing Black Goliath and trying to kill other people. No.

Finally, someone with some sense around here.... Robot Thor is a terrible idea and should not be brought to screen.

Sounds cool, only thing stopping this from working is time constraints and Hemsworth's contract.

@Everyone else as if it wouldn't be cool? I know full well it wouldn't happen and a huge part of me doesn't want it to happen but it could be interesting to show that this is how far Tony as fallen. But I understand he needs time for redemption at the end when Cap's dead.
