Rambo: Last Blood

Oh wow, is this the first time something like this has happened?

No, I think some countries have had added content for specific markets. I can remember that Iron Man 3 apparently had an entire subplot where Tony Stark was getting help from a Chinese character for the China release.

The iron man 3 material was superfluous and added solely for chinese markets in exchange for financing. This Ramno situation is more like Kubrick making cuts to the Shining in certain regions. This prologue scene despite its action seems to be actual character affecting material.

The prologue is online in cam form if anyone wants to look for it.

I've seen the movie with the prologue and it adds character development. Thank you Australia.
The movie is a slow burn but it is something different for John Rambo. I Which is good. The long hair I didn't miss.
Its still a Rambo movie with his Jacket, name, music, bow, army flashbacks. Its just another time in his life.
People complaining about the film being racist need to get off their high horse. Some parts of Mexico are bad just like anyother country but in this PC world that we live in people will find something and make a big deal out of nothing.
People... especially Americans are making it political when its not but I expect that from the American and their critics.

Rambo went after nasty men who happen to be Mexican. Who cares where people are from. Doesn't give you a free pass. These were bad, ruthless, nasty, violent people.
No different for the other Rambo films. The violent kills were upped from the last film and I expected that. Last 20 minutes is well worth the price of admission alone.
This is a brutal and relentless film. Not for these PC critics. Its not made for them.

The 4th movie had a good ending but I'd rather Rambo go out in a bloody blaze of glory. He needs to fight til his last breath. That would be his happy ending.

The hair isn't too short and so it's fine. I wish he had a bandanna in the finale but was okay with it as well

I plan on trying to catch this in the cinema, but if I end up missing it before it's gone I'm not going to be too mad. I have the set that has the other four movies so I planned to likely by this anyway even if it's bad. Collector's mentality and all.

Saw this tonight. Was alright, felt very short. As soon as it started to get going it was over. The finale stuff was pretty cool. A decent time at the theaters.

Watched First Blood and Rambo this week at home and really enjoyed both movies. First Blood is the best installment and an absolute classic. Rambo was a guilty pleasure and ended perfectly with Rambo walking back home to his farm. The stare at the long road he just walked to get back home was a fitting end for the character and closed the book. Last Blood’s ending seemed to have reopened things for the character. Will Rambo start helping people like the A-Team or the Equalizer?

Yep those are still my two favorite Rambo films. First Blood is just an all around great film that's works immensely well as a drama and as a psychological thriller. As much as I do love the Rambo carnage that comes later I really do wish that the sequels focused a bit more on the emotional aspects since I found that the most interesting, endearing and compelling part of the character in First Blood. Then you get to Rambo 2008 which is just epic, and IMO has the most satisfying kills in the franchise all because of how unlikable the villains are.

Last Blood's ending was open ended in a great way. Could go either way and both ways is as a fighting warrior

Saw this tonight and actually enjoyed it quite a bit, more than I thought I would. Some of the kills and brutality was great, but I actually expected a bit more from the finale. It was just over a bit too quickly for me and I wanted Rambo to get up close and personal with a few more than just the main guy.

I was shocked that
actually killed the girl, wasn’t expecting that and found it a bit of a downer.
but how the story progressed from there was pretty satisfying. I liked the score from Rambo coming back, but I wish the First Blood theme had been used a bit more. Sly is still damn effective as Rambo, and the ending intrigued me. My issue is I thought Rambo 4 ended things perfectly for the character, and while Last Blood was entertaining, it didn’t really take the character anywhere. The thing I love this franchise and character, so if Sly does another one I will be there to see it.

7/10, but not a patch on Rambo 4 and doesn’t even touch First Blood.

Saw this yesterday. I thought it was fine. Not the best Rambo movie by any means, but had some interesting things about it. I kind of felt like the finale was kind of hilarious. Just the way how a trap would go off and then suddenly he'd be there to shoot people, it was so unrealistic in that regard that was comical. I was legit laughing every time they cut to the next generic guy getting killed and then Rambo being there just to finish them off. Heck, he even did that to people who were clearly dead! It was kind of funny.

I also want to add that I kind of felt like this movie could have been more. This felt sort of like a standard Rambo film, when they could of done a lot more with it. I get the seeds of the concept of making this like a Logan for the character, but it's all very surface-level. I wish they would have gone deeper into the character's psyche as opposed to making it a pretty basic revenge film. Especially if this is going to end up being the last one, I wish it had been more ambitious

I'm not sure it will change my thoughts. The theatrical version was generic, hollow and sort of cheap like those Escape Plan sequels.

However, I do like Stallone and he can act when he tries but there doesn't seem to be much for him these days.

Wasn’t this “extended” cut just a new opening of Rambo saving some hikers that was originally released everywhere but North America?
