Might as well add a box office poll to this Hunter. It doesn't have the hype of Cloverfield but it has the fans I'm sure. I'll say 30-38 million.

Really cool interview with Stallone. People tend to make fun of him for mindless action films and not being a super great actor, but I sure as hell like his views on things.

Definitely going to check this out this coming weekend.

Cool interview, and the clips are pretty damn tasty.

Can't wait for this.

CS: Any more "Rocky" movies on the way?
Stallone: No. They talk about Son Of… But no. I got so lucky with the final image of "Rocky," the rack focus and the fade. I can't go any further. It was a miracle that it even got done. I'm just glad. That was my finest moment. I was so happy with it. I just wanted to end it on a certain note and was lucky to get that shot.

Exactly how I felt, "Rocky" gave me goosebumps.

3) The latest trailers/TV Spots for RAMBO really just showcase the killing and mayhem with heavy metal music in the background. Is this a marketing angle that you have come up with, or something Lions Gate is pushing in order to play on the film's, well, killing and mayhem? I ask because I think you can bring in a larger audience by utilizing the character moments of Rambo (with the excellent Rambo score)... something you kind of did with one of the first trailers, with the Rambo voiceover about killing and ending with the image of him approaching stealth-like behind a soldier, ready to kill. We love action and violence, but the reason Rambo has such a following is because his character has depth (many moments in First Blood, boat scene and ending of Part 2, village scenes in Part 3). Cut another trailer to showcase this if you can.

3. Well it’s definitely too late to cut another trailer, but I couldn’t agree with you more. In today’s world of promoting films you have a very limited window to make the biggest impact. We opted for the action angle to drive the hardcore audience into the theater knowing they’re not going to be disappointed and we keep our collective fingers crossed that the dramatic portion will be discovered once they’re in the seats. It’s never easy displaying a film. Sometimes you can do the right thing and end up with a disaster by trying to second-guess an audience.

Stallone answering the question of the marketing of Rambo

Will he be joining the Force of Freedom in this movie? :)

Stallone was just on UFC Fight Night. Just talked about his film and how it's a true action film, non-using CGI.

It doesn't have the hype of Cloverfield but it has the fans I'm sure. I'll say 30-38 million.

I'd say 20-25 million. It's January. Movie don't tend to make so much during this month. Cloverfield was an exception.

$45-65 million opening weekend.

So...it will have a bigger opening weekend than Cloverfield?

Richard Roeper just dissed this movie on Leno.

If it makes $20-25 mill opening I'm sure Sly will be very happy, $30 mill and he'd be ecstatic...$50 mill and over is a ridiculously and unrealistically high prediction (and I'm a die hard fan, I expect this to be the best film of 2008).

The best film of 08? Really??

I think it's gonna be great, but I dunno about "best film of 08"...

It's too early to name ANY movie the best of the year.

I'm waiting for the first negative review that complains about the violence. That should be interesting. it will make me roll my eyes at why someone would see a Rambo film and think it's a negative to have it drowning in over the top violence, but I know it will happen.

The movie will make 18 - 20 million this weekend.

Lets be realistic. Its Janurary. Its rated R. And the marketing was crap.

I love Rambo and hope it does better. But like Rambo...I am a realist. Around 20 million tops. Might do worse.
