I'm waiting for the first negative review that complains about the violence. That should be interesting. it will make me roll my eyes at why someone would see a Rambo film and think it's a negative to have it drowning in over the top violence, but I know it will happen.

Yeah lol, there's always a good number of chumps that have no common sense. Probably find some of those types of reviews on Rottentomatoes.

The movie will make 18 - 20 million this weekend.

Lets be realistic. Its Janurary. Its rated R. And the marketing was crap.

I love Rambo and hope it does better. But like Rambo...I am a realist. Around 20 million tops. Might do worse.

I doubt it. The tv spots may seem lackluster, but it got the word out. And between reviews and word of mouth, I've heard nothing but good things. And most importantly, it's Rambo. This is a very recognised name. It should by all rights be as big of a hit as Blairzilla... I mean Cloverfield. $45-65 million opening.

There are chick flicks out there and yeah...that stupid looking Meet the Spartans. 300 was a massive hit (dont know why...its was ok) so those fans will pile to the theatre to see that one this weekend.

I think Meet the Spartans and Rambo will be close this weekend. Sorry...20 mill for each is my guess. Dont know which will edge each other out for the top spot...IF they can even dethrone Cloverfield.

Rambo's true money will come from overseas, not domestic. It will break $100 mill overall though due to overseas popularity with the character. The youth of today sucks and have no taste, so I will not be surprised at all if Meet the Spartans makes 50 million while Rambo makes 1 million (you get what I mean).

LOL!!! I love these negative reviews, especially ones that insult the Rambo fans and potential audience. But hey, never thought for a minute this would be a 4 star Critic's darling must see flick.

This movie, 'Meet the Spartans,' looks awful and I don't know why they are maing fun of a movie that was only released a year ago. I dislike all these 'Scary Movie' type films. What a waste. I'm going to support Rambo though, which is a real film with sense.

I thought "Walk Hard" was such a piece of crap, I don't know why so many people thought it was great. It had a few funny moments, but most of the movie was stupid slapstick dumb comedy you see in most unintelligent parody movies these days, just like "Meet the Spartans".

I really cannot believe they are able to keep making movies like "Scary Movie" and "Spartans" and "Epic Movie", the list goes on. They are honestly some of the worst, most embarassingly unfunny movies I've seen in my entire life. I'd rather watch another Naked Gun flick than watch these new pieces of trash.



If "Meet the Spartans" beats "Rambo" opening weekend, it will be solely because of Rambo's Hard R-Rating, and if that happens, it will be a truly sad day.

RAMBO is a well established, and hugely iconic character. Smoking Aces had nothing of the sort going for it.

Judging by Rottentomatoes, critics are gonna tear this movie to pieces, and that may bring in some people to actually see the movie, but it will deter more people away from the movie. Thats just how it works for the general audience. People will say...oh it looks like its gonna suck...so I'll download the thing off the net and go see Meet the Spartans instead.

Damn world.

I'll be there tommorrow night watching with my wife and friends. If its awesome, I may go again on the weekend. If it sucks...well......nuff said I guess.

I wouldn't cry, I don't really care much about box office to begin with; and a film like this is hardly relying upon critical success, the people that enjoy these types of films are well aware that critics generally don't...and don't care.
