Yes, they are in French, but they are still worth looking at as pieces of art (nervous lol)

I love these styles they do some of their art in - it's really pleasing to the eye as well as easy to the eye.

Those are pretty nice, I like the second one more. Probably wont be the same as the ones we get here in the states.

You know, I understand what they're going for and that it's a specific look and style and very unique... but I just think these look terrible. They remind me of a 10-year-old's Photoshop drawings, with solid shapes and ugly fonts and colors and positioning... Even the rat looks goofy!

I'm glad they're not using these big time, as I prefer and think it's MUCH more effective to use the other ones that have the actual CGI on them. Sorry for raining your parade - thanks for sharing them!

I like them and I'm getting thirsty. :cwink:
Okay, I could only see the second one. :O

I could fight you but but there's no point. Obviously you aren't the artsy type who is open-minded to different styles, and that's okay...I guess. You're missing out on lots of cool stuff though if you behaviour is like this in similar cases.

If you are the artsy type you obviously don't like this style, me? I love 'em, and yes tzarinna, the second one ROCKS lol

No offence buddha...:O

I love the swirly things on Ratatouille...and I don't think a CG poster would be good. They are getting pretty boring, but we will get CG posters because that's what DIsney orders from Pixar...then they go off and do this kinda art for kids books and stuff...I really like this sorta stuff, it's a variation on the norm.

The Chinese RATATOUILLE Trailer Is Way Different That The Trailer We Got!!

Merrick here...
The Chinese trailer for Disney/Pixar’s RATATOUILLE has hit YouTube.
It’s significantly different from the American trailer – featuring an extended sequence of “set up” from the film.
SEE IT!!! I love the rendering of the foggy Parisian night. I'm eager to see how this film shakes out. CARS was cold and creepy to me (never could shake the sense that it was set in a formerly human world in which machines had overthrown mankind and now dominated the Earth); it never really came to life for me. This might make up for it.
Thanks to Jeroen for sending in the link!

Those are fantstic. I love the old style french advertisements.

That clip is incredible, I didn't know much about the story so this gives some insight.

Those posters leave me cold though, I know what they were going for but they look kind of shoddy and hastily put together. I like the top one better though.

New Ratatouille Trailer Coming Friday
Source: Walt Disney Pictures
March 19, 2007

On Friday, March 23rd at 9:05PM PDT, the Ratatouille trailer will debut online on Disney.com, following the trailer's broadcast debut on "Cory in the House" on The Disney Channel.

In anticipation of the trailer debut, you can now grab a "Ratatouille Viral Player" from the official site, featuring a countdown clock and coding that allows fans and webmasters to add the Player to their own website, social networking profile, or blog. Plus, the player will supply fans with additional video content leading up to the film's premiere.

Disney has also provided ComingSoon.net with a brand new image of the main character Remy, looking over the beautiful Paris skyline. Located just across the Seine, right in front of the Eiffel Tower, lies Gusteau's restaurant, one of Paris' most exclusive restaurants, where Remy’s tale unfolds. You can view the image here!

Disney/Pixar's Ratatouille hits theaters on June 29.

Man, I thought Cars was gorgeous, but this blows that away!

i agree, this looks like fun ...better than Cars anyway

This is going to be the first CGI movie like this that I ever see in the theater. Brad Bird gets my full loyalty for casting Patton Oswalt as the lead in a big budget movie. People need to get up in arms more about these idiotic handouts of voicever gigs to comedically bankrupt A-listers or even somewhat funny A-listers who are just going through the motions to get even more unnecessary cash for doing next to nothing.

People like Brad Bird is starting the trend that Billy West has been shouting about the need for for years. Give the big voicework jobs to people who don't have the option of getting 10 Million dollars to crap out the next big action movie or "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days" dretch.

The first CGI movie you'll be seeing?

Man that's sad - CGI movies have become commonplace and some of them are fantastic - Toy Story 1 and 2, Incredibles, Monsters, Inc., A Bug's Life and Cars. Everything else besides Ice Age is basically a bad attempt at cashing in - Madagascar, Robots, Ice age 2, the wild, chicken little, etc.

The thing about Pixar films is that they actually have great simple stories but emotionally effective - they have heart and some of the most easily relatable films ever made - which is why they are so good and so many people like them. Oh, yeah, plus the animation is the shiznit too.

Some wanker on IMDb said that Pixar films become to convuluted due to everyone pitching in - um...no, it works the other way round (I should know)...you work on something alone - and thats it - it's gone to hell...you work on it with people you get more and more and better and better story points.

Therefore - I am thoroughly lookign forward to this and love the concept of a rat becoming a chef when they always shoo rats out of the kitchen.

It's not the concepts that are brilliant (as they are pretty normal concepts, monsters, toys, fish etc) but what they do with it and how they write it.

Oh sorry - in a theatre. I was just going to suggest watchign both Toy Storys, Monsters, Inc., The Incredibles and Finding Nemo - all five their best films. A Bug's Life and Cars are good too, but they aren't "the best" if you understand - they aren't as good as their predecessors.

Add this one to my list of movies to see this year. Most of the Pixar films haven't disappointed me in the least and it's about time we got one from them that isn't about talking cars, monsters and otherworldly stuff. I know this has talking rats, but I'll let that slide and say it's the closest thing to reality we got. The animation looks as flawless as ever and I'm really liking how the humans look. Should be a hell of a movie to see.

I really have high hopes... Not to try and create any early hype, but honestly, the new trailer and all the footage I've seen... this is going to be way better than cars and overall just fantastic. Can't wait, I love Pixar!

I think it looks a lot better than Shrek 3 in both humour and animation

It may just be me, but the movie looks too good for it's own good. The movie looks good in an adult way, but I don't think I would have gotten too excited as a kid. Two of my friends said the same thing.

Pixar seems to be heading that way with their movies, Incredibles was far less kiddie than Finding Nemo or Monsters Inc., and while Cars was more of a return to form and more kiddie than The Incredibles, it was definately less so than Finding Nemo.

With what I've heard of Wall-E, with it's first quarter to a third of the movie being dialog-less, seems they're just doing their thing.

Usually you will get a lot better work if someone does their own thing and is good at doing their own thing - whereas if you force it upon them they'll do a bodge job - hence Pixar movies have been and are going to be the best films out there - because they all love telling really awesome stories, they love making these movies, and they love breaking down the barrier of CG films.

And hunter - I disagree somehow. I am looking forward to Ratatouille more than Shrek 3, but ... I guess your comment is actually right. Dreamworks animation just hit a hump when they made shrek and were lucky it was so good - every other dreamworks picture has sucked since then - or at least not been as good as shrek (excluding shrek 2 imo)

Beauty...Rat-a-too-ee may have, even a snide comical sense, but as far as being Disney's cannon animated movie, this look to be even worse then Cars.

The one thign I cant believe to understand is why Disney is using this movie as their feature for the year.

This will absolutely be the worse marketed movie, as far as consumption is concerned.
Though he looks cute ot a fault, i dont see Ratatouille wallpaper, stuffed animals, action figures or anything like that remotely selling well
Maybe a video game...depending on their approach...if the take a hint from Cooking Mama, theyll add cooking into game.

IF ANYTHING they need to go all out on making this a Cooking movie with 1000000000 cooking products.

In the longterm for a disney movie though, as far as characters i just dont see this standing up in the long run.

Cars only had so much appeal, and when it comes to girls, they wont go near the movie, i dont see girls falling for a stuffed rat anytme soon either.
Ratatouille just looks to fail as an all aorund good movie dempgraphically.

Visual comically, and other sorts maybe not, but as a kids movie it doesnt look great
