My personal favorite is, "You're a monster, Zod. And I'm going to stop you". I probably had my action figures saying similar things when I was playing with them as a five year old.

Not one of my favorite lines. But I can partially defend it on two fronts: First, earlier in the movie, Jor calls Zod a “monster.” So it is kind of fitting that Jor’s son would arrive at the same conclusion. Second (and as you say), it’s a very “comic book-y” sort of expression - the kind of grand, melodramatic, pontification that superheroes have been spouting for decades. (It actually reminded me of Superman’s confident vow to Luthor in STM: “I’ll mold this box into your prison bars.” - “superhero speak,” if you will. ) Still, this doesn’t excuse the line(s); clunky dialogue is clunky dialogue. But if one is a big fan of the genre (with its internal conventions and “charming” idiosyncrasies) it strikes me as self-defeating to single out “You’re a monster” for special ridicule. I.e., it’s possibly one of the more “traditional” elements in an otherwise (allegedly) “revisionist” interpretation of Superman.

I wouldn't mind it in a different movie, but it seems out of place in this one. Everything is "gritty" and "realistic" except the silver age dialogue.

Why the **** are all the good things deleted?

Especially in Batman movies? They screwed up Batman Forever!
They deleted the scenes that made up the subplot of the movie.
Deleted the scene where Riddler and Two-Face get into a threesome with Chase, where Seal is singing.
They delete the scene where Batman throws down a bat-bomb when he sees Two-Face climbing out the water.
And they deleted the scene where it shows you why Riddler is screaming...where Batman starts to undo his bat-zip...

Yes, “tonal inconsistency” is a better way to frame this particular criticism. My theory : in their zeal to complain about absolutely everything, some critics forget that certain details are actually canonical - straight out of the comics or the Silver Age, etc. So unless the complaint is qualified, they’re essentially ridiculing the sacred source material (and not just - in this instance - MOS.).

Who is ridiculing the "source material"? I love cheesy lines like that. Lines like: "It's you who's out, Gobby! Out of your mind!". The difference is that Spider-Man didn't destroy New York or snap Green Goblin's neck in that movie.

The Nolanman trilogy had many stupid lines too.

I think it's pretty bad, but it's more like the stupid line from Dark Knight Rises.

I can't remember much of Cavill's dialogue, to be honest.

I can only remember some of Zod's and Farora's lines...because they were pretty memorable...all 3 of them

Reeve had the better dialogue. Cavill was short changed.

I remember the fat kid who said "dicksplash". He was one of the best things about the movie. Not because of that line, though.
