The only problem with this Season is that it's over. 10 for me.

It ran for me and it was over way to quickly. The show is well written and I hope for many more seasons.

It would have been a 10 but I had to knock off a point for Iris and her relatioship issues.
Those scenes were very painfull to watch.
Other then that it was a GRAND season filled with memorable villains and cool special FXs.

8.
Fantastic show but for the occasional silly bits and Iris.

9 /10

Definitely the best superhero show on TV right now, and the best live action superhero TV show to date.

Would have been a 10, but had to take off half a point for inconsistencies with time travel - I have no problem with time travel but it seems to be totally random (as in Barry travels back in time in one episode and doesn't meet his past self, whereas in the finale Barry travels back in time and meets both his past and future selves, and Eobard Thawne is erased from existence - which pretty much undoes the entire first season.....)

The other half point comes off for Iris being such a completely unsympathetic love interest (sorry to jump on the bandwagon :( Hope she's more likeable next season).

But other than that it's been an amazing show. Sure, it ain't Shakespeare, but the characters are generally likeable, the super-human fight scenes are pretty damn good for TV, and there's a nice chemistry among the cast.

I find it weird that the writers could do such a great job at the little-by-little reveal of the RF, but not take the same care with time travel .

Probably the highlight has been Tom Cavanagh as a likeable Harrison Wells, and an evil, but understandable Eobard Thawne. RF has still been the best part of the show. Gustin has been a good lead, and Jesse L. Martin has been a great side-kick, but the RF character has still been fantastic.

I'm looking forward to his return - and hopefully the writers bring him back in a way that makes a little bit of sense.

Okay, sorry, enough nit-picks, because overall I loved the Flash, it exceeded my expectations in every way.

Sorry the Flash has ended, and really looking forward to season 2 !

A very high 9/10 from me, bern an excellent season and in my time watching CBTV I'd rank seasons ones for others like so:

The Flash 9/10
Smallville 8/10
Arrow 8/10
Lois & Clark 7.5/10
The Flash (90s) 7/10
Superboy 6/10

Can't rate Gotham until I've seen the finale mind.

10 from me. Although there were few things they didn't explain in the show which was a bit disappointing. Things like what happened to future Flash after the night Barry's mom died, and why was Wells so obsessed with the newspaper in 2024, when all his plans didn't have anything to do with 2024 (atleast, from what we have seen so far), and also, how does the original 2024 timeline and the alternate 2015 timeline get the same 2024 future as in the newspaper? As much as I would hope the producers would have explained this, the show have been amazing and I have no issue giving it a 10. Wells/Eobard is easily my favorite character in the show. Barry is likeable as a hero, and the supporting cast have all been great.

Easy 10 for me, my favourite show on at the minute.

It was subtly explained that the method of time travel determines the effects. When Barry first traveled back (approx.) 24 hours, Eobard explained to him, "Any number of things could've triggered the wormhole that allows you to repeat your day. Your emotions, your circumstances, your cortisol levels, all of the above..."
To which Barry confesses, "Well, I mean, my adrenaline was super high since Iris and the entire city..."
He even claimed to have been running just as fast as he was when it happened, but it didn't have the same effect.

When he went back to save his mother, they used a hydrogen particle collision to form their desired wormhole under completely different circumstances, hence, it has different properties.
There's also a chance it just has to do with temporal proximity. Maybe if you go back a day, the timeline merges you with your past self since it would get too complicated and 'paradoxy' if you could start crossing your own timeline a day at a time.

Sorry dude, no disrespect but that explanation doesn't quite cut it for me.....what's more likely is that the writers didn't really think it through. Because no matter how high Barry's adrenaline was, it doesn't mean that when he travels back in time 24 hours that the Barry who existed in that time suddenly stops existing.

It also doesn't explain how Eddie's sacrifice doesn't undo the season. If Eddie dies, and Eobard is never born, then the events of season 1 still don't occur. At best it would create an alternate timeline - probably a lot more like the timeline that would have existed had Eobard never travelled back (where Barry becomes the flash in 2020, not 2015).

To be honest, they would have been better off to establish some rules around time-travel (which would have been good as story points) and then have the characters come up with exceptions.

The thing is, while I can acknowledge the problem that the writers have created, ultimately it doesn't matter. I mean, it's a show about a guy who can run faster than bullets and people who can teleport and do other impossible things, so really time travel isn't a big stretch..........I just think it would make the show even better if it was done in a consistent way.

The Flash is still a great superhero show, actually IMO the greatest so far. But that doesn't mean it's perfect. I can live with that.

Cheers.

^ Good points. I'm trying not to think too much about the whole time travel, "this erases this, so he can't be alive, which means this didn't happen.." and wait until we get some answers revealed in Season 2. It's very fun to think about however, but all you'll end up doing is either guessing wrong or guessing right.

The show is a definite 10/10 for me, but I knocked off a point for the whole Firestorm bit that occured around after The Man in the Yellow Suit. Didn't really do it for me at all--I thought the whole wedding thing during the finale was mumbo jumbo too. But other than that it's the most perfect superhero show I think ever. I haven't been this immersed in a TV show in a really long time. It goes Flash and then Daredevil.

9/10. I'd concur with everyone sentiments. The strength was the mythology and the relationships, are very likable hero and an equally likable and at times scary, nemesis. The actors all put it great performances. Appearances by John Wesley Shipp, Mark Hamill, Wentworth Miller, Steven Amell, and Emily Rickards were always well placed and utilized. A great ensemble of character actors with a led who you found just as interesting outside of the costume as in the costume.

Characters like Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, Linda Park, Firestorm, and the Reverse Flash, all made there first live action appearances ever. The show's mixure of lighthearted fare with darker undertones set it apart from its sibling Arrow, and most of the time, surpassed it in quality throughout the 2014-2015 season.

The biggest weakness of the show was the romantic relationship dynamics save Ronnie and Caitlin. It took the show off the rails at times, and ultimately weakened more than it did strengthen the characters. Hopefully they'll take the near universal criticism from critics and fans alike, and either really work on improving those storylines, or pushing that stuff into the background.

All in all, a very good first season and up there with classic first seasons such as Heroes, Smallville, and Arrow.

6/10

I admire the show for willing to embrace the comics, but character (sans those like Joe, Wells and Stein), dialogue and some plots could be downright bad... IMO, of course. I'm vulnerable to cheese, and some tell me to enjoy it for what it is, but for the most part I can't.

9/10. As a kid, I got into Flash comics from getting Mark Waid's "Terminal Velocity" as a set at my local Toys R Us. I always wanted to see the speed force and time travel on a Flash show or movie as that's always been the appeal of the character for me(well that and his Legacy issues and his fun rogue's gallery). When people used to say to me, "what's so great about the flash? He just runs fast. So what?". I brought up all these things. This show had it all.

I thought Grant Gustin was great as Barry. I was skeptical at first, having only seen him as a kind of queeny, snarky villain on Glee(he does a great "smooth criminal" though lol) but he quickly won me over. The whole cast did really. I also quickly grew to like Joe, Cisco and Kaitlin. I didn't think I would like any of them but all 3 are wonderful characters with wonderful actors. Eddie and Iris are weaker but they're not bad and both continually got better as the show progressed. Iris I never disliked but....something else needs to change. Try as I might, I can't picture this Barry and this Iris ending up together. As the season went on, I believed it less and less and this is a problem as I want to see an Barry and Iris that are completely in love. I don't want to wait till the SERIES finale to see this. I want it sooner rather than later. I'm not sure if Eddie is coming back but I want him to become a bad guy. I like him and he's earned the audience's interest, now to improve him here and there.

Speaking of villains, this show has some great(and not so great ones). Most of the villains of the week...were weak unfortunately. I kind of like Pied Piper but everybody else is kind of meh. The rogues lead by Captain Cold are another matter entirely. I love Captain Cold. Wentworth Miller plays it very dry and a bit campy but he's great at it. Heatwave is a decent sidekick(I hope he develops a bit more in LOT and in season 2 of Flash) and Golden Glider is fun as well(especially when interacting with Cisco). Gorilla Grodd is a slight letdown. I'm more used to the evil mastermind of the Justice League cartoon so seeing him be a powerful lacky for Reverse Flash is a bit disappointing but I hope eventually he'll become a bigger, better threat.

The MVP of the series though, has to be Tom Cavenaugh as Harrison Wells and Reverse Flash. He's amazing. And every aspect of his storyline works. I love Wells as Barry's mentor and Cavenaugh is great there but when he finally reveals his evil, he comes emmy worthy. He's an revelation as Reverse Flash. All of his dialogue in the season finale gave me chills. "Because I HATE you, Barry." and his last lines about killing everybody Barry knows before Eddie shoots himself....delicious. Reverse Flash is just as great as any comic book movie villain and that's a major deal. I'm glad Cavenaugh will return next year just hope they give him more great stuff to do.

Plot wise, the mystery surrounding Wells worked, the time travel worked. One minor quibble I have is the use of Linda. I liked the character, her interaction with Barry and she was hot(lol) BUT it's a waste to use her for Barry when she's destined to be with Wally. That bothered me.

Still, great season. I didn't give it a 10 cause I feel like it could get better, less minor villain of the week episodes(unless the villain is good) would be nice.

7.5/10 Very good show. Lovely special effects, good story and for the most part well acted. Fantastic end to the series to leave you wanting more.

9/10, loved it. Fun as ****. Some small problems, but still. Awesome as hell. I feel like Grant Gustin grew a lot as an actor. And everyone else was good too, so yeah, 9/10.

Apart from the Pilot, the beginning of the season was fun, but above average. Starting with "The Man in the Yellow Suit", it was pretty much perfect.

Not to take away from the showrunners or anything, but does anyone think that the Flash movie influenced them to hit the ground running and basically introduce much of Flash's mythology (Reverse Flash, the Rogues, Grodd, the Speed Force, time travel, etc.)

5/10 . That's neutral for me.

Full disclosure.- I didn't want to watch The Flash. The superhero genre is not something that I'm going to seek out on my own. My sister is into it though. She wanted someone to geek out to,and she tried her best to get me to be that person. Finally, I agreed when the show was on its fifth episode. Only on one condition though. She had to watch it with me. So we made a day of it. We would watch it on the CW's website together. She got to geek and I got to complain. So there you go. I went in with a not so positive bias.

Pros-

The overall acting was good to brilliant. Cavanagh was the stand out.Best actor on the show. I was constantly going damn where his acting was concerned. The show felt really meh when he wasn't on screen. It would be outrageous if he's not at least nominated for an Emmy or Golden Globe. I mean I know there is a bias against fantasy at award shows, but if Jane the Lawsuit can get one...

Likable Main Cast- I had individual characterization issues with them, but overall I didn't dislike anyone.

Barry was absolutely adorable to me. He's a fantastic main character. I found him very likable from start to finish.

The soundtrack for the most part was good.

The ham and cheese could be enjoyable.

Cons-

Time Travel( and Multi-verse). Not a fan. Never have been. It's The Deus Ex Machina.

I think there were way too many mental gymnastics in play for a lot of major plot points.

Emotional meat needed overall better execution. It also needed to be included more.

Captain Cold and his cohorts. Their episodes are pretty much unbearable for me.

The choreography was overall not good.

Crossover episodes- Not a fan.

Overall characterization and development wasn't executed well for a lot of the main cast.

The gorilla episode. Just No.

Romance BS- badly written, poorly executed, not organic in the slightest, and shipper baity. So CW being CW.

When the ham and cheese was bad it was really bad.

Neutral-
The CGI. I was going to put this under con( and there is a part of me that still kinda wants to),but thinking about it the graphics as a whole were hit and miss for me consistently. So neutral.

I was entertained to a point, but overall I was bored. I can't in good conscience give myself a compelling enough reason to watch the second season. I also won't be watching its spin-offs. The CW is also something I'm saying adios to as well.
