Justice League Ray Fisher - WB Investigation Updates Thread

Look at it this way. Ray said he didn’t want to work with Hamada over what he felt were Hamada’s attempts to block the investigation and protect Johns. Ray was then let go. Many people look at that and think it was the only way things could play out.

So then ask yourself, why is it the person alleging workplace misconduct (Ray) by leadership (Hamada) was then punished by leadership (WB)? And why was the leader being accused (Hamada) rewarded with a contract extension all while no investigation into his alleged misconduct ever took place? Why has literally no one even humored the idea that The Flash film should’ve just been delayed until a new investigation was concluded?

I fully admit that that there could be things in the background we’re not privy too. But based on the available information, WB looks shady as all **** right now. And I’m genuinely floored that they aren’t being pressed harder by the media.

Well Fisher says Johns is being "quietly phased out". If that's the case then I doubt we would get headlines that he was fired. Maybe they would just let his contract run out and not renew it. Hypothetically, contracts like that often have about a 3 year span and that appears to be the case with Hamada who first became the new DC Films head in January 2018 and then renewed his contract last month. Johns "stepped down" in August 2018, which could mean his current contract could be expiring in August. Don't be surprised to see a statement around that time with some sketchy reason about why he won't continue to be the Stargirl showrunner or keep doing whatever else he does for DC. Again, if Ray is correct about him being phased out.

I am a white male sir and I welcome such accountability. Then again I am Irish so we have experienced what it's like to be kept down in our own away.

The derision Fisher got his way made me so uncomfortable. Like it's fine if someone said they were cynical of what he was saying, but some people really went to town on him. Not only abuse but people gleefully declaring he'd never work again. That is some ****ed up ****.

People like that will never admit they were wrong because to do so requires some serious self evaluation.

Bruh that's what I didn't get and I hate to bring race into it but that really what it appeared to be. When he first came out, people just waved it off like it was a lie from the beginning. I have not heard not ONE PERSON doubt the cast of Buffy. Not one. People are actually showing empathy towards her and I'm like where was that for Ray Fisher? Even made excuses for Whedon. On that site that shall not be named, it was like 99.5% of the people killing him and making excuses for the WB. Those same people can't even come back and admit that Fisher's story is more believable now.

Ya there should really be an independent investigation from the human resource team on “If a manager has impeded the investigation of another former manager” instead of “oh you don’t want to work with the new manager, you’re fired”

Take away the fancy words like Hamada, Fisher, CBM and treat it like a normal company and one will see how absurd this is. There are tribunals for these types of dismissals

Not that I trust WB, but "they don't sue me because it's true" is a dumb argument because what would they sue him for?

Slander and defamation are incredibly hard to prove. The law basically require that you prove you've been hurt as opposed to them having said bad things. Especially during a pandemic year in which it'll be even harder to prove since any financial losses they could've lost will be chalked up to that.

Not really a good point.
Because they wouldnt win either way.
First because its hard to prove on a basic level, and also because it would hurt the image of WB more than it already is hurt.

The Big company against the small guy never looks good for the company.
They only lose no matter what they do.
Sue him and be the villian, deal with everything he wants and they still are the company that enabled it in the first place.
There is no winning for WB in this no matter what they do or dont do.

I always thought the primary reason was optics. From a PR standpoint it would make them look like total dicks. The general public would look at it as a David vs Goliath scenario where the up-and-coming actor who tells the truth is fighting against the wealthy and powerful establishment that wants to bury the truth. There's a reason the only time Whedon ever said something was after Fisher's Forbes interview where he mentioned Whedon supposedly changing the color of non-white characters during the editing process. I think it's just a case of their legal team presumably telling the accused to lay low and that Warner Media would handle it. Besides it probably wouldn't be taken seriously if any of them said something anyway, Jon Berg is the only one so far who "categorically denied" the accusations right after Fisher made them and noone really took the "Booyah!" thing at face value.

His point is moot, they haven't lost out on anything. Joss is the only one whose lost work but Rays racism claims have disappeared haven't they?

But Ray at this point wants a reaction and that is why WB won't be playing ball with him.

He does has a case and I'm pretty sure he does want them to sue so everything can come out to the public. He has a NDA in place which is why he can't go into detail I believe. Them going to court will let everything out in the open. WB just wants this over with ASAP.

I wouldn't say nobody has complained, unless you mean openly. If you want to believe the ex-president of DC entertainment from 2009 to 2018, Diane Nelson, Johns does have a history of abusive behavior towards comic writers.

And that is how it tends to work. No one has to courage to complain until someone else does it, then they come forward. Same with Whedon. No one REALLY came full force until Fisher did. Now they gates are open.
