Spare-Flair said:Not to Superman! I mean, this totally makes Superman a complete hypocrite if he makes a speech about planned parenting! (which is exactly is something typical for what this Superman would do in his public statements)
This is confusing?
I mean you've got those one set of fans who complainin about how boring the "perfect" Superman was, the one who always did what was right regardless...the "boy scout".
For most non-fans, this is also part of the reason why some people can't stand the Man of Steel, because he is too 'goody goody'.
Then you've got those fans who are complaining that he isn't acting like the perfect boyscout and that he's not living up to the morals and ideals that he's stood for for 60+ years.
Times have changed, as has the Superman character himself. As demonstrated in Superman Returns, the modern comics, SV and even JLU, Superman is NOT perfect. (Hell, even the whole turning back time in Superman 78' to save Lois was iffy)
Clark Kent is just as flawed as the rest of us, however he still tries he his best to be the most virturous man on the planet in an attempt to inspire others to do good. Does he succeed? Maybe, but he sure is trying.
IMO, a flawed Superman is much more realistic and interesting than the PERFECT Boy Scout.
If he were perfect, what would be the point? Where's the conflict?
