This movie had so much ground to cover that it had to leave out a lot of connective tissue scenes that would have explained things better. Scenes that have been left in the earlier, shorter movies.

I'm hoping for a 4/5 hour Director's Cut and these scenes (hopefully they were shot) will be included.

According to the Russos, they have like 3 minutes of deleted footage
so I wouldn't bet on a director's cut

I don't think the movie needs one, honestly.

There is barely 5 minutes of cut footage according to Russo's so sorry you're stuck.

I think this was the Director's cut

What I'm hoping for is ton of alternate scenes (and endings!)

This is correct. They may have B-roll footage but it sounds like neither the studio or directors cut anything of significance that would change the movie.

Shooting scenes for this kind of movie is expensive. Most of the stuff was cut during the screenwriting process according to Markus and McFeely.
Imagine filming a scene that costs a couple of million dollars and then the director decides not to put it in the movie. Producers aren't going to be happy.

Filming scenes that don't make the movie is common. But the Russos are notoriously economic with their shooting/scripting process. None of their MCU films had many deleted scenes.

That's all very true, but I'm still hoping for unused, altenate scenes, without effects or anything, filmed to throw people off about the plot (maybe Cap with the Gauntlet? Natasha in the final battle? Hawkeye dying in Vormir?)

In that case, I wanna get my hands on their original draft.

One of the writers revealed an alternate story plan that saw Tony go to Asgard instead of Thor. He then uses his stealth suit to try and steal the Aether from Jane, but he runs into Heimdal who could see through the stealth and they fight.

Like Bryan Singer with Superman Returns. :funny:

According to this article from 10 April, the original theatrical cut was shorter, not longer than this cut.

Avengers: Endgame's First Cut Was Actually Shorter Than The Final Cut

So this film appears to be the director's cut.

As for alternate endings, apparently they made Mark Ruffalo film 5 different endings to keep him from spoiling it.

Mark Ruffalo says he filmed 5 endings for 'Avengers: Endgame' and he spoiled one of them

I would like to see some of these deleted or alternate scenes. All the ones of Black Widow that were deleted like her doing target practice or sitting in the rain would've been cool. Also, maybe they could show us more on the Avengers analysing the pager and then Captain Marvel showing up. They must've surely filmed more for that.

I think the lack of excess "unused footage" is part of why Marvel Studios has consistently been able to keep their budgets in check. Through careful planning and good judgement, they avoid filming stuff unless they really do intend to use it.
