The funny thing is that the supposed main theme I'm talking about appears in a small manner in the 2nd track of the preview which I love (Becoming Spiderman), but not in the 1st track (Main Title/Young Peter) as I originally thought. Still think we're talking about the same piece, though. And I still despise it.

So, I listened to it. The one I'm talking about and the one in the footage are 2 different tracks. I don't like the former because it's an Elfman wannabe and I don't like the second one because it's typical Horner uplifting music, which is not my cup of tea. So yeah, turns out that I DARE DISAGREE WITH YOU!

lol./ Yeah, not a fan of the 'main theme'. Never liked Elfmans theme and Horners is a little too close to it.

But the second one (the one I thought you meant) I love. I heard that and really felt spidey in it.

True that. Danny Elfman's Dark Shadows score did not leak at all and a lot of people were looking forward to that score.

You're gonna have to explain something to me, you guys not liking it. WHERE do you hear Elfman??

These soundbits are much better then Raimis soundtrack. SO much more energy. Not so moody. The tracks that needs tension and excitement constructed in to them, is there in spades! The roof-top-kiss soundbit was beautiful by the way. And the final end credits theme that has spideys main "tune" build in to it for full throttle, is so much better then the Elfman main theme. But that's just me.

No, it's track 1, main theme, that many say sounds like Elfmans, and I feel the same. It does. But that's me.

BUT, in the police chase clip, as spidey swings away under the bridge, that piece of music is just STUNNING.

Yeah, but if it's, for example, a Best Buy employee who pulls the disc and uploads it, I'm sure they're more likely to recognize Spider-Man than a vampire Johnny Depp.

I know, but Elfman is a big composer. Anyways, looking back at history The Dark Knight score leaked on July 4th and the movie came out on the 16th. That is two weeks before the release. Tron: Legacy leaked a week before its release. I don't expect The Amazing Spider-Man to leak for another week or two and The Dark Knight Rises for another 3-4 weeks.

The score sounds fantastic, and has actually made me more excited over the film than the trailers have. Nice to see some superhero films actually still care about score *looks at Avengers*

Glad to hear this score getting some positive comments. I'm definitely looking forward to this score more and more everyday. I know I had my doubts before, but I also had some hope that Horner would write something inspiring. (Again I have yet to hear the music b/c I want to hear it in the context of the film first.)

I agree with you about The Avengers score I owned the Intrada cd and have yet to open it. The score (just Like Silvestri's CA:TFA) was nothing special to me. The movie deserved better, imo.Though I'll admit I noticed the score more the 2nd time I saw the movie. I'm sure I'll appreciate it more whenever I give the cd a listen, but that score could've been so much more. It was just an average Silvestri score with a few moments. Sad to say b/c I'm usually a big fan of his.

But I like the comments about all the different directions Horner's TAS-M score is going. Shows he's putting a lot of effort in this one. If it turns out well this could end up being the best superhero score this summer for me.

Oh b/c I just notice whenever music scores for a newly released film get talked about be it The Avengers boards , Bat boards, Spidey boards, etc. People always mention leaks. I was just curious what the deal was with music leaks?

Oooh I gotcha. It's really just the album hitting the Internet before its officially leaked, if that's what you needed clarification with.

That's all I wanted to know. Thanks for clarifying. I wouldn't be surprised if a leak comes up anytime soon. Moviewave has already done an early review of the soundtrack. A few posts (maybe a page) back I posted a link of the review. It's only a matter of time now.

Damn, that new basketball clip proved what I was saying on the previous page: The score there totally ruins the tone of the scene for me. The one scene where I find the dialogue and interractions pretty great, and they dress it with that piece of s**t music. Sigh.

It's a goofy, light-hearted scene, and the music is goofy and light-hearted. Seems like a good match to me.

It's not a 0/1 case. There are levels of light-heartedness and goofiness. The music is over the top with regard to the scene, imo.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. Just going off the the 10-minute sampler, I'd agree - that was the one track I really didn't care for. But seeing it in context, it doesn't bother me.

I really like the earnestness in this score, based on what I've heard so far. Whoever said it has a "heart on its sleeve" quality was spot on, imo. And for the record, I'm not a Horner fan. I may have even bashed him somewhere back in the early days of this thread. But I've been pleasantly surprised by what I've heard of this, as he doesn't seem to be phoning it in like he's done for the last decade (imo).
