The Amazing Spider-Man Reboot composer?

Yeah, I didn't remember correctly there. He talked about some picture, not the score :P

For me, the Elfman spidey music is so... meh. Really, it's not in the same league as Williams Supes, as Zimmers Bats or even as Elfmans Bats (only my opinion though).

Sure, that initial build up at the start is great. But once the 'Spider-Man' logo disappears, it falls very flat. So, I hope whoever is in (is it announced who's in?) really creates something special. Something that defines spidey, Like Elfman did with Bats and Williams did with supes.

Ah sure, everyone has different opinions.

If it is James Horner, that is an epic win right there.

Pretty much. Horner would be a great choice for composer to have.

The spidey music, IMO, is just meh. It just did nothing for me really.

Well it does something for me. Both Elfman scores are underrated. He wrote a lot of great cues from those movies. Both" Main Titles", "Costume Montage", "Revenge", "Alone", "City Montage", "Parade Attack", "Specter Of The Goblin" "Farewell", "Spotting MJ/ Spidus Interruptus" "Not Back Yet" "Doc Ock Is Born", "Angry Arms" "The Bank/ Saving May" "A Mugging' "Peter's Turmoil", "Aunt May Packs". I could go on.

I really enjoy the themes he wrote for Spidey (which captures Petes more bold. wild, and heroic side as well as what it's like for Peter to be a superhero imo), Peter Parker (which covers Peter's responsibilities), MJ (which captures the bittersweet romance between Pete and MJ as well as Pete's feelings for her), Green Goblin (has a very menacing, threatening, and twisted theme that captures Osborn's schizophrenic nature), Aunt May (has a very touching theme that not only covers May's pep talk to Pete and May's pleasant attitude but also captures Pete's sadness and guilt over Ben's death as well), and Doc Ock ( one of the best villain themes in a cbm and really nails that character, imo). They're all great. I'll miss them.

I love that he didn't give Spidey a march like Supes and Bats. That's too cliche anyways. Peter has the stronger theme (imho) b/c Peter is who he really is. Spidey's just a gift. That he uses out of guilt. That he originally used out of greed. He didn't intend to use his powers for good like Supes and many other superheroes when he discovered his powers. He's not like Supes and Bats. Bruce and Clark (imo) are the masks. So it makes perfect sense why he gave Spidey a motif instead of a march. Plus Peter is a complex character with a complicated life. Elfman's Spidey scores are very textural . One of his most clever, imo. So I appreciated what Elfman brought to the table. Though I am open to the new composer for the reboot.

Not in my eyes (or ears). If this movie came out 20- 25 years ago this would be very exciting but not today. I'm not against Horner scoring this. But imo the man's best days are far behind him, imo. For over 25 years he's been recycling themes from his scores. It's now become a parody. Sure that is apart of his style. But still. I don't the score to be predictable. The guy does come up with good scores no matter how repetitive. It's just the 80s and early 90s he hit his peak, imo. So I'm in between about him. I don't love that Horner is scoring this but I don't hate the idea either. I'll wait and give him the benefit of the doubt unlike some people (COUGH!)Gianakin(COUGH!). In fact they could've done much worse.

For me, NON of the music themes connected with me. Overall, it wasn't anything special. I found the whole trilogy overall poor. But that's another argument that needs to be left out of here. I hear what your saying, but still, that music never connected. Listening to the music, I never felt inspired. It's not music I could sit and listen to. Supes (all of the music), Bats (Elfman and Zimmer - all of the music) I could sit and listen to. It's not aweful music, just nothing... Amazing.

Fair play. I've been a big fan of Horner since Star Trek 2. So for me, I'm excited. He may not deliver, but like you, we'll wait and see. But I'm excited by this :)

Well said.

Well, Elfman and Raimi had disagreements over certain things while making S-M2. Elfman and Raimi have resolved their differences though, and he's scoring Raimi's next film called Oz: The Great And Powerful.

Oh right, I see. I can't wait to see Oz. Mainly because of James Franco
