The sad thing is when this movie does come out and is terrible you will still believe that you actually know something about movies. No I have not seen any of Lexi's work and yes that does mean I don't really know her capabilities but honestly everything she has done looks terrible but I hope for all the best. I am fan of the Punisher and I hope it turns out great! But if you can't read the writing in the sky and don't know what I'm talking about then you are just ill informed. And if the physique of the title characters to major comic book motion pictures is not important then I don't know what is I need to be sold on these people playing the roles. I want the best possible movies for the stories that I grew up with. I hope all the best for Punisher but sorry guysit doesn't look good.

The cast is okay I ma excited about ray as punisher. No Brendan I ma not in the movie biz I don't think anyone who posts on superhero hype is in any way affiliated with real film. We are fan boys. You have a female(yes female) director that I seriously doubt was a big Punisher fan. Some of the casting is good some not so good. Lionsgate is rushing it into production because they lose the rights to the franchise in a year. Two actors yes two have voiced their displeasure over the script as well as the way they are running things. It's very disrespectful to offer some one to read for a movie then an hour later say oh forget it we got the person we really wanted. That's not how you run a serious production and that's not how you treat people who make a whole lot of money. She should be ashamed for treating someone like that and I'm sue word will get around and know one with any class will want to work with her again. From what I can tell brendan your a very young guy and you think you're standing up for all women's rights by claiming I don't respect women but the fact is your a kid. When you get older you'll realize that there are distinct differences between men and women. They don't make them worse or less just different. It's ok to know the limits of each sex. I hope Lexi's past will assist her in truly capturing this. But again I doubt it. The truth behind your earlier comment is if you have never worked in the industry or made any movie yourself, then you know just about the same as the rest of us. Don't pretend like you know better than us. And on Paddy Considine, movie making above all is a business. People are thrown overboard all the time without tears being shed. Paddy never appeared to be interested in the movie to begin with anyway. If he gave off that vibe to me when I was considering him, I'd say the hell with him.

Also, you are new to the community. If you had been around longer you would have seen my earlier comments on how concerned I am regarding the script. Too many negative script reviews, but an amazing cast and director and you got me on the fence about things. You thinking of me as a faithful die hard fan boy is far from the truth.

Your view on women speaks volumes of itself. This is why there aren't many women directing movies is because of these views like "limits of each sex".

And how that differs from the production budget.... and what the difference in those two numbers are for this film even before factoring the projected marketing budget?? Lionsgate is rushing it into production because they lose the rights to the franchise in a year.

No this isn't true, their license agreement was part of a deal with 15 characters to Lionsgate, and Punisher doesn't expire unless they fail to act on ANY of the characters during a period of five years, but thanks for pretending you read the article back when it was ALL OVER THE NEWS!

Have you ever seen American Psycho by Mary Harron (she lost over 1 minute to get her R rating)?

Have you seen Near Dark directed by Kathryn Bigelow (she got lucky with Near Dark but she knew what the MPAA would ask her to cut and made changes as filming went on)?

What about Pet Sematary I and II (if you don't already know this part 2 lost almost 7 minutes to get it's R rating), by Mary Lambert?

What about Hooligans by Lexi Alexander??? Oh wait you didn't even bother to watch a film that features Brutal Violence from teh same woman before you were able to judge her merits... and somehow you also managed to miss all these other brutal violence and action gems from female directors - but nice going on pre-judging them all.

Movies are all about story telling and exploring characters. Just because she's a woman doesn't mean she is limited in what kind of characters she can use in her movies. She's not your ex-girlfriend who broke up with you for reading comic books, she's a dedicated movie director and a whole lot more.

Lexi has showed a realistic approach towards violent people in past films. You'd be better off with a woman director on this like her than some fairy tale director like Tim Burton.

Last post on this topic I swear.First off as far as my attack I admit to it being partially an attack but I don't know if I can say it's any worse then brendan basically calling me a homosexual. I've been happily married for a year now. Also I know I haven't posted much but I have been reading posts here for about a year now. I just decided to start recently because I thought it would be fun. Also I don't think having the most posts on superherohype makes you some kind of respected veteran. This is a chat board on comic book movies for goodness sakes. Yes I do (troll) around because I enjoy looking through others posts and seeing if there is any new info on movies also I find it entertaining and I like to gather as much info as possible. Every once in a while most recently I want to put up a couple of posts. Next just because maybe ten guys who had some affiliation with the movie hop on real quick does not make this some grand gathering of film makers. Most of the people on this board are young kids and a couple older guys like me who want to joke around and shoot the breeze about upcoming flicks. Yes American psycho is a fantastic film. One of my top five favorite movies of all time. But you can quite obviously see a woman made it. One of the central themes of the movie is mans connection of sexual fantasy and violence. Very feminist subject matter. If you read the book it is much more masculine the violence is played up a lot more. You can tell a man wrote it. Throughout the history of mankind men have committed the worst acts of violence and continue to. A quick question, if men and women are the exact same when it comes to violent nature why are there more men in the military, police officers, and why is it men that carry out acts ofmass genocide?This disparity can't all be because of sexism. It is because we are programed to violence. Now are there women who exhibit these traits? Of course, that's why I have a glimmer of hope that this movie will be ok. I think lexi's past may offer a shot at it. But again I've got to wonder that as a woman she was brought up and showed a huge interest in the punisher. Again I hope so. Now what about pet semetary 1 and 2? These are your examples. Then you've proved my point. Now for the production budget I could be wrong but everything I've read about this movie it's very small.I don't have the exact figures and I don't think anyone does and it's always changing. We never really know only the studio does. Again I could be wrong but the budget on the first one was in th 35 to 40 million dollar budget with about 15 million going to travolta. A very bad move. I would imagine considering the other movie fared pretty darn well it will be close to that again. I hope! As for the casting director comment yes the casting director plays a major role in gathering the talent but in the end it comes down to the director the studio and he producers. Next was it taxi or taxi driver you were referring to? If Taxi Driver then I'm on board! That's as close to what the punisher I envision is. Every one has their interpretation but that is mine. As far as people wanting to talk to me that's okay if they don't want to talk to me to each his own. If I get kicked off the board ok I'll sign up with a new email and name and be right back on. We aren't spies here guys this is a chat board. And brenden I apologize if you flet offended but you are young you have a picture to the left and I watched your movie and checked everything else.
