The cast is okay I ma excited about ray as punisher. No Brendan I ma not in the movie biz I don't think anyone who posts on superhero hype is in any way affiliated with real film.
I don't mean to call you an idiot - but you're making a fool of yourself... we have TJ Storm who posted on here, we have Tim Bradstreet who made the posters for the 2004 Punisher film and has just signed for the new one... so those are two people in the PUNISHER thread alone, but nice try.
We are fan boys. Listen I'm just stating my pinion your the one who is getting wound up this is site to state your opinion not to take offense to every thing every one says. The movie will be bad sorry, I hope it will not but it will be.
So you already made up your opinion but it seems to all be based on nothing.
Production costs are low for a large scale action movie.
Oh wait... so THESE are your facts? Just out of curisoity, do you know the production budget or the marketing budget??? If you don't you can look back at mine or AD where we discussed it in our post history, or just ask and I'll repost it. But I am seriously doubting you know... do you even know the shooting budget? And how that differs from the production budget.... and what the difference in those two numbers are for this film even before factoring the projected marketing budget?? If not, again just let me know.
You have a female(yes female) director that I seriously doubt was a big Punisher fan.
The times I've had contact with her recently, she seems to really like the character... where did you hear otherwise? Ive never heard her say otherwise...
Some of the casting is good some not so good.
Which do you think are good and which are bad???
Lionsgate is rushing it into production because they lose the rights to the franchise in a year.
No this isn't true, their license agreement was part of a deal with 15 characters to Lionsgate, and Punisher doesn't expire unless they fail to act on ANY of the characters during a period of five years, but thanks for pretending you read the article back when it was ALL OVER THE NEWS!
Two actors yes two have voiced their displeasure over the script as well as the way they are running things.
One of the two you are talking about NEVER READ THE SCRIPT - but again thanks for showing your ignorance.
The other one wanted something that didnt fit the Punisher character - if I wanted to see Taxi reimagined, I'd shoot for a remake, not add it to the Punisher... it's not our character.
It's very disrespectful to offer some one to read for a movie then an hour later say oh forget it we got the person we really wanted. That's not how you run a serious production and that's not how you treat people who make a whole lot of money.
Apparently you don't know anything about Hollywood, he hadn't signed a contract, he hadn't even read the script yet.. they don't owe him ANYTHING. If I called you today and said, Hey I want you to read for Punisher... and an hour later say Sorry we found our guy and you hadn't even read the script yet - how is that disrespectful - YOU'VE DONE NO WORK YET!
She should be ashamed for treating someone like that and I'm sue word will get around and know one with any class will want to work with her again.
One SHE ISN'T THE CASTING DIRECTOR but thanks for assuming she somehow should be responsible for their decisions.... again you need some basic understanding of film to place blame on people in film....
From what I can tell brendan your a very young guy and you think you're standing up for all women's rights by claiming I don't respect women but the fact is your a kid.
That's a personal attack on someone you don't know... if you do it again, I can almost guarantee you you'll get banned at least temporarily if not IP banned... you're new here, I'm sure they'll give you a warning but know it's not tolerated.
When you get older you'll realize that there are distinct differences between men and women. They don't make them worse or less just different. It's ok to know the limits of each sex. I love women for being women not for trying to be men. Inflicting vengence upon criminals is a very manly ideal. That doesn't mean a woman can't understand it just means it's really not the norm.
This just shows your ignorance...
Have you ever seen American Psycho by Mary Harron (she lost over 1 minute to get her R rating)?
Have you seen Near Dark directed by Kathryn Bigelow (she got lucky with Near Dark but she knew what the MPAA would ask her to cut and made changes as filming went on)?
What about Pet Sematary I and II (if you don't already know this part 2 lost almost 7 minutes to get it's R rating), by Mary Lambert?
What about Hooligans by Lexi Alexander??? Oh wait you didn't even bother to watch a film that features Brutal Violence from teh same woman before you were able to judge her merits... and somehow you also managed to miss all these other brutal violence and action gems from female directors - but nice going on pre-judging them all.
I hope Lexi's past will assist her in truly capturing this. But again I doubt it. Hope this helps man all the best we don't need to argue we can just talk some super hero stuff and have a good time.
You aren't gonna last long you appear to just troll boards and make personal attacks... but if you do manage to get your act together, I'm sure everyone will be up to talking to you about normal stuff.
