Spidey sense tingling? :spidey:

Even I had an inkling of this. Did you all notice last January that when they announced the reboot, it specifically said Sony and Marvel Studios would be bringing forth the reboot? As well as current pictures on Marvel.com with the Marvel Studios logo for this film?

Some great points brought up in this article:

(cannot post link it's forbidden in these forums, but shoot over to a certain other website regarding comic book movie . com) and search a new article regarding this - it's there)

Will the new movie be incorporated with the new Marvel Movie Universe?

Very interesting... :ikyn

with references, yeah i could see that. but if you mean something like a "New Avengers" movie, no that won't happen

I'd say its highly unlikely, but I wouldn't rule it out completely either.

Thing is Superhero properties have until recent years been treated as standalones on film with no extended universe.
Marvel have changed this thinking dramatically by linking all the ones they have produced themselves so far. If the pay off (Avengers) is successful then Sony might see the value in having the only hot property they own being included in that world.

Having said that, if Sony are willing to be flexible enough to allow that, and Disney for that matter (and that is a big if) I can't see there being a direct link like a cameo from one of the other characters in Spider-Man, or a cameo from Spider-Man/Parker in any Marvel Studios film. Seems more likely to me it would be just a reference acknowledging the existence of other characters to establish Spidey is in that extended world.

When it comes to those owned by Fox, I can't see that studio even going for something as minimal as that.

God, I hope not. Heroes like Spider-Man, Batman, the X-Men, and the like should all be left to their own personal worlds.

Spider-Man should have his own universe. I don't want a world full of superheroes. It just does't fit for Spidey.

Considering that one of the first things Spider-Man did with his powers was try to join the Fantastic Four, I've gotta disagree with you there.

Some of the best comics I've read have had Spidey meet with other heroes, Galactus123 (yay you can count, it's rare). It doesn't have to be a big thing. I'm easy about it, though. Either way is fine by me. A passing comment is fine. A subtle nod. All is well.

Being in the Avengers I would say doesn't fit, but being part of a world full of superheroes....he has been exactly that for nearly 50 years now.

It's possible that the creators will make it so it doesn't actively contradict the other Marvel universe so it could easily fit in them, but not plan for an actual crossover.

Why?

Nope, Don't see it happening. It's a stand alone property for Sony and will remain that way. I could be wrong but that's how I see it for now. There is the intention by Marvel Studios to incorporate their characters for the ensemble films and right now Spidey isn't apart of that.

What are all your thoughts on the Marvel Studios references and logos attached to the project?

If Tiony Stark or anyone else froma different movie pops in for the usual "Hey, Avengers coming Soon" scene I'll kill someone.

Don't know what to make of that tbh. First thought was it could have just been the Graphic designer's error (using the 'Studios' logo instead of a plain Marvel or 'Entertainment' one) but it's been done on other graphics as well so it's either a continued unchecked error or very deliberate.

With the rights issues as they stand it's hard to see how Marvel Studio's could have any involvement with this film without it being a collaboration on some level, however minimal, with Sony.

It is interesting that's all I know. Time will tell.

X-Men I could see, but Batman is a founding member of the JLA which is nothing but "a bunch of other superheroes". Perhaps Nolan's Batman is a loner, but every other Batman is often surrounded by other heroes or his sidekicks. Spidey teams up with peopel every other week too.

I will say no. I always saw Spider-Man as being the only superhero of his world. Making him that makes the film more realistic and besides, I wouldn't want to see Spidey in an Avengers film. Let him stay in his one little world.

Wouldn't hurt to see Nick Fury at the end of the film letting Peter know that S.H.I.E.L.D. is out there, watching him and that when he turns 18 (maybe you can make it 21 in the filmverse) he's theirs....

"Enjoy your youth, kid."

I read rumors of it possibly happening before, that's the reason of the reboot is how I heard when news of the reboot were new
