I see alot of trades on Amazon, don't know which are worth reading though.

Is the crossover drawn by Jae Lee any good?

All the dreamwave comics were ok. The WW1 crossover was pretty neat. Don't really remember much about it.

The only Dreamwave stuff I have is the trades of their Generation 1 stuff. I'm planning on getting The War Within, since I heard that was good.

I'm also partial to the stateside series Marvel did in the 80s, since that was the one book I consistently read and purchased growing up.

Titan Books collected the series into trades.

Book 1: Beginnings (Issues 1-6)
Book 2: New Order (7-12)
Book 3: Cybertron Redux (13-18)
Book 4: Showdown (19-24)
Book 5: Breakdown (25-30)
Book 6: Treason (31,32, 35-37) Issues 33 and 34 were a reprint of the first Marvel UK story "The Man of Iron"
Book 7: Trial By Fire (Headmasters 1-4, and Issues 38 and 39)
Book 8 Maximum Force (40-42, 44 and 45) Issue 43 was the comic book version of "The Big Broadcast of 2006", an episode from the cartoon series.
Book 9: Dark Star (46-50)
Book 10: Last Stand (51-55)
Book 11: Primal Scream (56-62)
Book 12: Matrix Quest (63-68)
Book 13: All Fall Down (69-74)
Book 14: End of The Road (75-80)

And if you liked those, Titan Books also collected the stateside Generation 2 series Marvel did in the 90s.

Book 1: Dark Designs (1-6)
Book 2: Rage in Heaven (7-12)

The Jae Lee issues were a promising idea of setting G.I.Joe and TF in WW2 but his art is really tough at getting used to.
