No? I thought it was incredible. That part with the little mutant girl and the note she left to Phil Sheldon always chokes me up...also; the parts with Phil and Gwen Stacy. Alex draws Gwen's face so sweet and innocent (Sins Past my ass. )...

A true masterpiece and a MUSt for all MArvel fans, imo...

I tend to like Black and Red too...as I find myself colouring/drawing Spidey with Black and Red more then Red and Blue. I think it just helps to further set him apart from the heroes of the time that he was created in.

I think Stan Lee talked about how once the fan response to AF #15 came in, they wanted to distinguish Spider-Man from Superman. So that's where the hyphen became law.

I still miss Erik Larsen. His red and black was great, especially when Spidey was running around at night or in the shadows. I couldn't find pics of it, but the Powerless arc with the Black Cat, all red and black.

Gotta agree larsen drew a great Spider-Man.

As for Ross he's alright, some of his views just seem so old. But Justice was very kick ass, and I just looked at the preview pages for Avengers/Invaders with the thunderbolts fight, it is a thing of beauty. He actually has Spider-Man as an avenger like doing stuff rather than getting beaten up by ninjas.

As for the question at hand, I'm partially color blind so there's no difference for me between dark blue and black.

Larsen has one of my favorite Spideys EVER.

He brought back the skinny-Spidey, and always had such a cool look to the eyes!
