Remember when Linkin Park was good?

Another new song out called "Blackout"

I can't really say what I think about it yet, will take a few more listens, like most of the new songs they have put out.
the whole album leaked about earlier this week, nonetheless it defintely surpasses MTM.

Listened to the rest of the album...

Minutes to Midnight wasn't a fluke. They still suck. I don't know what they're trying to accomplish here, but it seems the longer they take to release an album the worse the material is. You guys let me know when you're through experimenting with this "uhn-tiss, uhn-tiss" techno BS and pick up the guitars again.

My stance hasn't changed. This album sounds like complete ass.

Ah, didn't know the whole album leaked. Might have to check it out. I usually don't, but I'm iffy about this one. I own all their CD's... So I'll probably pick it up at some point anyways.

So theirs no guitars or any old sounding LP songs on this? If it's all techno, then I'm going to be disappointed.

MTM lacked DJ and rapping, now ATS lacks guitar? Eek.

Okay, I just listened to it, not what I expected at all. I don't think one track stood out to me. And their really wasn't any guitar parts in it. I'll give it a couple more listens some day, but first listen, I wasn't impressed at all.

Just heard the album now, I think it will grow on me the more times i give it a try but right now only two songs stick out

Blackout
Robot Boy.

I was a huge fan of Linkin Park in middle school. Hybrid Theory and Meteora were some of my favorite albums. I still have alot of the songs memorized. Then Minutes to Midnight came out and I stopped being a fan. Some say that they congratulate Linkin Park for changing their sound/style. I believe that to sorta be selling out or alienating your fanbase. With hundreds of popular bands out there and thousands of emerging bands, uniqueness is key and they were doing their own thing. Things from their first two albums are absent in their last two.

But I must admit...I do love "Shadow of the Day" alot.

The truth is, Linkin Park didn't actually get worse--they just started playing a different kind of music with the same halfway-good approach as always. Their first two albums were pretty much all the way through, and their last two albums are pretty much the same all the way through--now it's just a different sort of "same."

Unfortunately, their new sameness has absolutely zero rock in it, and therefore nothing to offer me.

I like Faint and numb and shadow of the day is ok. But they don't hold a candle to their early stuff, least the songs that were on radio. Don't have any CDs, they have best of cd yet?

I maintain that A Thousand Suns is a very good to great album that blows anything they've done previously out of the water.

@The Immortal!, no best of CD yet, hopefully never.

You know my music tastes have changed a lot over the years, and I still love a lot of rock and really do enjoy Linkin Park through the Meteora era. But a lot of people who enjoy the music I mostly listen to now (if you don't know, look at the spoiler in my sig. You'll get it.) really like this new Linkin Park album while I don't. I did not care for Minutes to Midnight, and I cannot get into this one either.

Sooner or later they will though. Sugar Ray, Matchbox Twenty, Creed, Alien Ant Farm all have best of CD...LP will get one.
