Spidey 3 Update

Well, things on the show have been pretty steady. Now that primary photography is over we've been working directly with the Director, Sam, on almost a daily basis to get turnovers prepared for SPI (Sony Pictures Imageworks). A turnover is a shot that needs to be handed over to the vfx company for them to do work on it. Since, these are usually just backplates with nothing apparently going on in the shot, we've been tracking and doing post-viz to add animation and basic vfx to the backplate, so that SPI knows what should be happening in each shot. In many cases, Sam has wanted to make changes to existing previz or we've had to modify it to match the actual backplate. Anyway, I have to admit the work has gotten kinda fun again. There's time to tweak things and there are no middle men to get Sam's approval on shots.

But this is not going to last long, since reshoots are probably going to start in November. Then it's back to overdrive mode! I'll probably be on the show for the rest of the year, as far as I can tell. Sam wanted everyone to have a week off while he was on vacation. But as soon as he left, other people started assigning me more shots to work on that need to be done before he gets back. So, no vacation until next year! Honestly, after this show is over, I just want to take a few months off and recharge....and update my website for one thing....

So...do you think this may have to do with possibly changing Harry's costume??

If they do?

Its possible. They've got time to do it i guess.

As you can see, it´s all routine procedure in a shooting like this. They even took a week off. There´s nothing out of the normal going on - much less some desperate reaction to "test screenings"...

You always have the best finds Retro.

If they've delayed it till November...than they must be up to something.

very nice find Retro: they are probably just doing some test screeningsup:.

Not really. Some reshoots in november for a movie that opens in may is nothing out of the ordinary.

exactly, they are probably just doing test screenings.

I meant in terms of changing costumes for Harry.

Maybe I'm just speculating something that probably isn't happening.

Cool. Looks like they're really trying to polish things up.

It is ordinary and sensible for them to decide to do reshoots for Spider-Man 3. I am glad we know when it will start.

lol

i was gonna ask him that but i kinda know the response id get.

he'd probably say "because spiderman3 is awesome. it's ganna be great because there reshoots and more action. its ganna be great we just gatta be patient"

If they're shooting new scenes, why is the term 'reshoots' used?

Why does the guy call it a "show" when its a movie?
