Monday 29-Oct-2007 4:10 PM Sony and Capcom to co-produce computer-generated film for the game
The live-action Resident Evil trilogy starring Milla Jovovich is over (thank God for that) but it's not the last we'll be seeing of the horror series on the big screen.

Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment are currently busy at work on another Resident Evil film, this time dumping the real people in place of CG graphics.

The new CG animated film, titled Biohazard: Degeneration, hopes to better the live-action efforts with "groundbreaking visual effects and a brand-new story line".

Plot specifics are yet to be revealed, but you can expect to be chomping popcorn in front of Sony's zombie-filled work in 2008.

Hm sounds interesting.

They should have just done this in the first place. Chris and Claire as they should look. Though there is the issue of it basically looking like one big cutscene.

I hope thats that for the RE films. For 3 is enough for me starring Milla Jovovich. No offence. She's awsome and all that, I really like her but I just don't see a 4th movie in the works and I figure that Alice's story is finished. The half bad/good ending was left wide open but whats left of the unfinished story from that scene alone should be left to the imaginary. ie: army of clones... but for me its the one clone who helped Alice destroy Dr. Issacs. That was more interesting than an army of clones.

Well I dunno about this...I'd probably go see it since its Resident Evil anyway.

Hopefully we'll get more info soon.

Sounds very interesting and I agree this is what should have been done in the first place. With that said, its a shame that the people in charge of bringing DBZ to life aren't following suit and also, if a MGS movie gets made, same thing should apply.

I actually liked the very first one...a full CGI movie should be interesting though

While I really liked the movie trilogy...
I am all for this simply because it's one step farther into getting hollywood to start using CGI actors instead of real actors.

You say that as if it's a good thing. Your saying that you want a future were all movies don't involve real people on the screen???

Well this has got to be better than the other films. Yuck...

This is a good idea.
Now, the only thing that needs to happen is to reboot the franchise away from the horrible Alice continuity, and make the film closer to one of the games.

hopefully it's not geared towards young teenage boys like the current franchise is...

I think films like RE can be done using real actors because at the end of the day its a horror/zombie flick. However, using CG actors would be perfect for certain types of films. These include DBZ and MGS. Using real actors for films of this scope automatically makes these movies unjust.

I agree with what your saying, especially for something like DBZ. It's just the way he put it, it sounded like he wants everything to be CGI in the future.

Hopefully this project comes together nicely. I want a RE like the actual damn video games.

Good news. You guys think they might use motion capture?

Jessica Biel as Claire Redfield. :p Motion captured.

As long as it has NOTHING to do with those abominations that were Resident Evil, Resident Evil:Apocolypse and Resident Evil: Extinction, then ill be happy. Maybe this time theyll, o i dont know, pay attention to the source material.

After seeing the first 3, I have lost all hope for these movies. Even if they promised me the greatest RE movie ever, and said if I hated it I'd get a bazillion dollars, I'd still have a hard time getting interested. :csad:

I... I'm just so burned out. 3 movie tickets they molested out of me. :csad:

That is to say metaphorically they raped your pocketbook.

I don't know if I can get excited about this. I supported the idea of a CGI Movie before, but who says that this is going to be any better than the realife movies? We're talking here about the people who okayed 3 disappointing Movie scripts.

it'll be linked into the films, there too big a cash cow to just drop

If it'll look better than Beowulf I'm in. Something like that CGI Matrix short movie should do good.

You know I take slight offense to comments like these since you hear them all the time. People really don't understand that acting is an art and it something that simply can't be imitated by a computer simply due to the creativity that an actor brings to the character, and he/she does this by the many years they've spent dedicated to their craft.

Back on topic... Did no one else read that this is based on an original story... Read the article instead of just the title, this very well could turn out to be just as bad as the movies.

making the movie like a cartoon is dumb. that's just my look at hit. keep it somewhere near reality.

it's CG, which is very realistic looking, and having no respect at all for animation like you seem to is as stupid as what's his name earlier in this thread having no respect for real acting...you people both disgust me.
