Does anyone know how many they want to make. I know they have 3 and if the third does good, and if it leaves an opening to a 4th, do you think they'll make one?

They want to make just 3. But Sony is made of liars so I wouldn't be suprised if there was a 4. Besides the 3rd movies book leaves it wide open for a forth.

They're all @$$ and I'm glad they're only making 3.

Maybe now that all that's done they can give the fans the reboot we've been clamoring for with a real adaptation of the first game. The books got it right, so I think it's a shame that the movies didn't do the same.

Do you mean the books based on the films got it right? Wouldn't be surprised. Reading the Extinction book and it is actually good. Doubt the movie would be as good though.

I have to say that I've never played the games. I knew about the first 2 RESIDENT EVILS, and then the third one is coming out, so I thought I'd rent them and watch them. My favorite, dealing with fighting, is the second one. but the first one is good.

What's the difference between the games and the movies?

No, the books based off the movies are @$$ too. I'm talking about the novelizations of the games by Stephani Danielle Perry.

The games are horror, and the movies are action. There are no kung fu fights or dumb crap like that in the games. When people fight zombies, it's always with guns, and the objective of the games was not even to kill zombies so much as it was to avoid them. The games are very dark and gloomy while the movies are mostly loud and suffer from ADHD (probably because Paul Anderson most likely has ADHD himself).

I've heard rumors that they're planning for one more after the next one, one loosely based on RE4 with Leon. Maybe it'll be him and Ada together rescuing Ashley.

We need to stop them. FORE THE GOOD OF HUMAAAAAAAAAAANITY!

i haven't seen the first two.. how much of sexy women do we get to see?

if only a RE4 movie could be made, and I mean solely based on the game and not any of the movies we've seen.

If Millia has established any amount of pull, they will keep going, because after these movies, her talentless career is over.

here's hopong they make a 4th resident evil! maybe other than the typical zombies they expand upon them with a few experiments that have the traits of the bandersnatchs arms. have william birkin and his g-virus be brought in (and explained) and some poison-clawed hunters. perhaps tokyo or the frozen arctic would be a good idea too. maybe the g-virus would cause any creatures that come into contact with it to be mutated (ie- snakes, spiders, etc)

End it with this one.

Reboot in 5 years. BASED OFF THE DAMN GAMES!

Also, the movies fail to follow even the most rudimentary of advice given by the Zombie Survival Guide, such as never engaging zombies in hand-to-hand combat.

Anyone planning to write a zombie story should read this book.

first one, lasers kill more people than zombies. i **** you not. i think that says it all for this series.

give it up on the reboot movies already, that's stupid as hell unless it's more than ten years

Someone in another thread had a good idea to remake them like the games but call the movies "Biohazard" like Resident Evil was called in Japan to distance it from these current crapfests.

this is a joke. somebody somewhere is actually paying to see these movies, that's why the rest of us are being punished.. first one was passable if you didnt know the source material, but the second was just ****e.

Batman Begins went into production only 5 years after Batman and Robin. There is no rule anymore about how long you have to wait before rebooting a franchise. IMO 5 years is the ideal time to wait, but you certainly don't need to wait any longer than that. Like FigmanJ and countless others have said, just call the new movie "Biohazard" to distance it from Anderson's trilogy.

Whew, these films suck, especially the Apocalypse.
However, I will go see Extinction.
