Meh the outtakes were stupid. I didn't laugh at all.. I slighty giggled at one or two but the rest meh.

i didn't think they were that bad, but i do admit i have seen outtakes that were much more funny than these. i have a feeling that the special features will be about the same level as these outtakes. meh...

The reason it's not your typical outtakes is because they were filming in 3D... That process takes like 5 times longer then normal. Yeah, it wasn't funny, kinda ironic though, and it did seem like everyone had a LOT OF FUN. Which is important for the set of a franchise.

I actually enjoyed seeing the outtakes. While they might not have been 'ROTF' hilarious, they were entertaining and you could tell the cast had a great time shooting.

Resident Evil Apocalypse had funnier out takes... mike epps was just hilarious

I don't want Lisa Trevor unless we get the full Mansion storyline. If she just popped up it'd be odd

I don't think that Anderson can do Lisa Trevor justice so I hope he doesn't use her. I think she should be left for whoever tackles a Resident Evil reboot some years down the road from now.

I agree Timstuff. That kind of character belongs in that Mansion setting and obviously we won't be getting that storyline so she needs to be left alone. A G-Monster is doable, but with them moving more towards the newer RE villains I don't know that we'll see a G-Monster either. I honestly don't know where the hell they could go with the story next.

How would you tell the backstory of Resident Evil, what with the journals and all?

Flashbacks? The backstory would be damned tough to tell in movie form. The individual stories wouldn't be too tough. RE1 is doable IMO and could lead nicely into a RE2-RE3 combined story. I have always wanted an accurate telling of the RE1 story.

IMO a trilogy should be RE1, RE2 (possibly with some bits of 3 thrown in, like Jill joining Claire and Leon's motley crew of survivors and Nemesis chasing her), and then a loose adaptation of Code Veronica.

I say a loose adaptation of Code Veronica, because I like the concept of CV for the most part, but I think that it kind of got stupid in the third act and it does not offer a thorough enough resolution for the end of a movie trilogy. I like the idea of a zombie movie set in a prison, and they toyed with the idea a little in RE Afterlife but they didn't really explore the possibilities.

Rather than just being a private prison where Umbrella ships their enemies, I would make it so that is actually a "legitimate" island prison similar to Alcatraz that houses real criminals. Prisons in the US have been privatized, so it is not that far fetched that one of Umbrella's subsidiaries would own and operate a prison that would also have secret levels to house secret prisoners and to conduct experiments on the inmates. The wealthy Umbrella brat Alfred Ashford would be the prison's warden as in the game, and he'd have an implied squicky relationship with his sister who has been missing for quite some time. However, there would not be a part where they for some inexplicable reason go to the South Pole. Pretty much the whole thing would take place on the prison island, and the movie's main focus would be on the "zombie outbreak in a prison" concept.

Claire and Steve Burnside would probably end up banding together with some of the other inmates to fight off the infected, and later some of Umbrella's monsters escape (or are released? *dun dun dun*) from their underground pens and start hunting the prisoners too. It could be a very gritty and intense movie if it were done correctly, and it could serve as an interesting social commentary about the US prison system.

I like it. Combine RE2 and 3 is the way to go. RE1 is a terrific story on its own and rounding off a movie trilogy with CV makes sense.

i think that re1 by itself would have been cool and they could have even fit in some small backstory from events in re0. re2 and nemesis could have been one big movie split into a 2-part movie and then code veronica as a 4th film would have been perfect. altho then i would have still wanted to see a 5th unless they ended weskers story in code v that way its full circle with chris and claire finally coming together and weskers return and demise in one film

i bought the blu-ray on tuesday, havent watched it yet but looking forward to it. enjoyed it immensely in the theatre altho i will miss the 3d immersion of scenes like the twin alices running through the glass and the axe-man in the bathroom. those were some pretty amazing shots with a lot of depth to them

I always thought it would be cool to have the first RE movie based on the typewriters, like the government/RPD/S.T.A.R.S or whatever arrive at the mansion after the incident and a great portion of the mansion/labs are destroyed and all the key characters (Jill, Chris) are dead. And they stumble upon this typewriter which have been filled with the last words of our heroes retelling their mission in the mansion. It might be hard to do but I think it would be cool if done right.

The idea of the main main character being dead makes me grumpy....sooo no

So I just saw this movie, and sorry if it's been said but am I the only one who thought about Sonic when Alice blew of the head of the guy with the axe and he fell down and all the coins dropped on the floor?:awesome:

Considering that there are no coins in the Sonic games, let alone ones that appear upon destroying enemies, no.

Like Matt though, I did think of Scott Pilgrim, which was actually a reference to River City Ransom.
