Seriously folks, I don't want to enter this thread and talk ****, but I will if you keep dissing Christians. I don't care if you don't agree, but at least respect my belief and say you don't agree. Everything else you are saying deserves some sort of rancor.

I don't see how I'm disrespecting his belief. He is stating what he believes as a proven fact. I'm just refuting it as an opinion. He can believe how he wants and you can too, I've never said it was a bad thing. All I'm saying is that no one appreciates being told that they're going to burn in hell for living differently than what other people say is correct.

Because it's freaken rude, that's why. According to their beliefs, that's the worst place anyone can go. You're the scum of society and that's why you'll burn in hell for all eternity. I keep seeing people say that Christians should just suck it up if they think they are being persecuted. How about the people offended by what Christians believe? Should they also just suck it up and keep to themselves?

I've been studying Buddhism for a while now. I like it. It meshes well with my worldview and I've adopted it as my religion for the most part. I believe in reincarnation, and I've had that belief belittled by someone who disagreed. They weren't intending to be rude about it, but the reaction of "lol, that's wrong" was somewhat hurtful. I felt completely shut down during what I thought was a simple conversation. But you know what? I decided to just let it drop, to silently agree to disagree and not worry about it. She believes what she believes and I bet she has just as good a reason as I have to have my beliefs.

If you don't agree, and it's not hurting anyone, why worry?

I'm not saying that they're idiots. I respect people's beliefs even if I don't agree with them. What I'm trying to let you understand is that what I don't respect is telling other people that just because you live differently is just cause for someone to start hating you or telling you that you will suffer due to having different beliefs.

If you believe in Jesus, Mohammad or who/whatever I'm fine with that. I don't think anyone is an idiot for having a belief in a higher power. It's fine to have faith in something. Just don't tell people what they're doing is wrong and they'll be damned for it and expect them to accept that without a backlash.

You're right. But, as the messenger, you get the backlash because you insist on letting others know just what they're doing wrong.
