Revealing Interview With Doc Conners (Dylan Baker)

I don't know if Kraven would be in the next movie. They more than likely would either have 1 or 2 villians max in the next movie. Lizard would more than likely be the main bad guy because Connors is so close to Peter. You would then need a visiually amazing villian. A villian that can demand the screen alongside the Lizard. My guess would be Electro or Mysterio. They both would make a beautiful villian on screen IMO. I just don't think Kraven could be a major bad guy. Sure he could come in and try to destroy the Lizard and get in the way a couple of times but I don't think anything more than that. I would also like to see one or two scenes with a revamped Shocker. But my bet stays Lizard + Electro or Mysterio for SM4.

Lizard is going to be yet another unwilling(or unwitting) villain with sympathetic overtones. Spidey has to stop him without destroying him. Kraven is who he is by choice, and his hunting of Lizard is for the kill. It creates scenarios where Spidey is both fighting Lizard and protecting him. Kraven could be portrayed as a hero by JJJ, making it even more challenging for Spidey to interfere with Kraven(who is doing what the public wants). I just see a lot of opportunities to create a great dramatic story filled with action and morals. I have nothing against Electro or Mysterio, I just don't know how it would all tie together. As for Shocker, I love the character, but he is also an unwitting villain... no need for that when you have Lizard.

Spidey doesn't destroy any of his villains. He's not the Punisher.

I just don't see Kraven delivering a beautiful amount of scenes. The Goblin was riding on his smoking glider throwing pumpkin bombs, Doc Ock's tentacles were going every which way, Kraven is pretty much one dimensional in terms of screen pressence. Electro or Mysterio would be beautiful on screen. But I totally agree with you on him fighting the Lizard and still protecting him from Kraven. That is why I think Kraven could be a minor character, much like that of May's role...limited but good. Shocker could be done in one scene at the beginning of the fourth movie. I just don't think Kraven is visiually stunning enough nor complex enough to hold his own movie and be a major villian. The city hires a big game hunter to rid the city of the now rampant sightings of a huge crocodile in the sewers that has been attacking workers, that man is Kraven.

Oh, just you wait until Frank Miller writes The Arachknight Returns.
That said, Raimi needs to stop killing the bad guys. (Well....I guess Harry can die)

exactly, spidey would preety much be fighting a regular human so Kraven being a minor character would work. lizard and scorpian are a must though because they are both visually amazing with cgi and the action sequences. I wouldn't mind shocker being in the movie like at the beginning like you said or pops up in the middle of the movie or something.

^Unless they make his weapons/equipment high tech.

that would be sort of wierd. Kraven usually used traps to trap spidey or used a net or made an animal come after spidey. high tech weapons would be a little awkward don't you think? we need the villians that would give us a great battle between spidey and who ever the villian is and the villian has to be able to be tough and a very big challenge for spidey. Kraven is more humanistic to be a villian for a spidey movie. he can still be part of the film though but he just can't be a villian or have alot of scenes.

Which would not be very Kraven, I don't think. The guy's all about simple jungle weaponry (darts, spears, some gas now and again), but he's not Lucius Fox from BB.
I vote Sinister Six.

There is only so far you can stretch that. I just don't think Kraven can hold his own movie. I would rather see Electro zapping Spider-Man than another bad guy shooting at Spider-Man with a gun. Kraven is more of the brawling type, using his weapons as a last resort. He's a trap guy, not a run and gun guy.

This all-but confirms that Sam has The Lizard in mind for #4. Things could prevent Sam from returning or Lizard not being in the film, but for now, I'll remain optimistic.

As for multiple villains in the next film, I beg people not to let this series go the way of the Batman films. Three villains in #3 are good, now let's step back down to two. #3 has an excuse, since one of them was built-up-to (Harry), one major villain (Brock/Symbiote) and one second-tier classic villain (Marko). If there should be anyone in with the Lizard, it should be somebody smaller, like The Shocker.

The Lizard isn't the "Top-5" material that Ock, the Goblin and Venom are, so his appearance should be offset by another major-minor villain like Shocker/Electro/Chameleon. Nobody like Hydro-Man as a sole villain, please. :-P But in 4, THe Lizard should definitely be the bigger of the two.

And for God's sake, no villain team-ups. It's lame. The Batman series took it too far. At least The Penguin and the Catwoman didn't exactly get along and only worked together for a short time. At least The Sandman and Venom are so/so, also. Villains working together (Outside of the Sinister Six) is sort-of contrived and convienient.

I would actually prefer to see a Kraven who fights with makeshift weapons and agility than a completely modernized version. One of the best elements about The Hunter I find so intriguing is his ability to use any weapon to his own advantage and that his power was great enough that he could match Spider-Man on an even field in battle. Some ingenuity here and there can create some new weapons in the concrete jungle using Kraven's guerilla sensibility. As for the Lizard, I go with the newest animated series in this: the saurian look is great. Make him somewhat hunched with a definitive reptilian look and with emphasis on his "weapons" (claws, tail, teeth and all). I'd even say that a mottled green or greenish-brown would work fine as well. All in all, a Spider-Man 4 that sticks to expanding the two in interesting ways while keeping the core elements alive would be awesome.

I actually perfer the classic 1963 lizard look from the comics. keep the cloths old school if you know what I mean. although Dr. curt connors might not be wearing the cloths from the comics in spidey4. he could just be wearing that long brown coat that he was wearing in spidey2.

Your kidding right? Dont get me wrong, I love The Lizard as much as the next guy, but I really doubt they would go for his original look. In todays standards, it doesnt look threatening at all. I say they go for McFarlane's version or heck even something new.

If Lizard's in 4 then I hope Craven is, too -- not that I really like Craven, but I think it just fits nicely is all.

Night Of The Hunter was an amazing Spidey eppisode in the TAZ series.

Forget the animated series, go read Kraven's last hunt.

venom's more complicated then the lizard... and that's my point... they are doing GG2 and venom in ONE movie.... something tells me the Lizard will not be the only villian.... they are not going to go from a 3 villians, down to one....

...and this is where the idea of spidey vs. lizard vs. kraven comes into play.

SPIDER-MAN 4:
THE LIZARD (main villain) KRAVEN THE HUNTER (secondary villain) and ELECTRO (seperate story). With the return of DOCTOR OCTOPUS at the end.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This also gives us 4 villains who are apart of the SINISTER SIX (Doc Ock, Sandman, Electro, Kraven), I believe with each movie they should introduce 1 or 2 villains for the SIN SIX. And release the Sinister Six movie in SM6.
S6 in sm6 may not be a bad idea but everything else for sm4 would completly suck imo. Elecrto in a seperate story in sm4, whilst we have lizard and kraven running around? Electro's appearance should this happen would make Doom's appearance in the F4 movie look phenomenal. That should be all means never happen.
Well said. The part about spidey not destroying lizard is also interesting because, the lizard being the creature he is will probably be completely primal, losing all sense of control, so taking him down without killing hi would be a hefty task, also, it is possible that spidey may have to stop lizard from killing himself because 1) He may be all primal and completely act on instinct, foresaking intelligence or 2) the lizard may be written as a character who is aware that he is a manifestation of Connors and to spite spidey and Connors' loved ones he might want to top himself.
So, spidey saving people from the lizard and saving the lizard from himself not to mention from other people who want the lizard dead. Could make for great viewing.
Regular human? Do you know anything about Kraven the hunter? Sure, he lacks the orgasmic visuals of other villains but dont sleep on the guy. By no means is he just a regular human. With the potions, serums and other crap he takes, he's bringing arms to spidey's front door like no other and I'd think that he'll actually be one of the better villains in these movies. Imagine if spidey filed to subdue the lizard and then kraven "kills" spidey and buries him and then spidey digs himself out of his grave to stop the lizard and want revenge on kraven for burying him but kraven kills himself ala kraven's last hunt, that would just be too f'n sweet.
With this news about The Lizard I must say that I am more hopefull about the return of Tobey for the fourth installment -- Tobey said that if there are any more stories worth telling he would come back, and I think that the personal problem of him having to face such a monsterous villain as The Lizard but knowing that he is a long-standing friend and family man will deffinatley quench Tobey's thirst for emotional wieght in the next film.
i think they should just pull the plug after this movie. what else more can you do? fight supervillains and that's it. and while that looks cool for 5 minutes, it's not enough to carry 120. they've been telling the same story for three movies now, they can't continue to recycle it.
I love the way you say RUNNING AROUND, like they'll be trying to catch each other's tail, lol. And Electro part could be amazing, the guy has the power to shut down the electricity in New York. Imagine seeing that on screen, with him as the only glowing power in the sky...fighting Spider-Man (F4 movie's Doom my ass). If they have 3 villains and the symbiote storyline in SM3, which is harder to pull off than The Lizard/Kraven/Electro, it could work out well. However, I wouldn't even mind just THE LIZARD/KRAVEN or THE LIZARD/ELECTRO. But I think Electro would help give it that extra SPARK.:cwink:
I'm all for electro but what I'm saying is that he shouldn't be sharing screen time with lizard and kraven, it'll only dim (pun intended) his appearance in the film. I however, am in full support of the lizard/kraven villains for sm4 though.
I don't know how I feel about another Spider-man movie after this one. I love Spider-man but it just seems that after this movie it'll be hard to top. I'd rather the series go out on top than slowly die away.
wooo 1000th post!!!
I must see the lizard on screen before and if they decide to close up shop.
