The Amazing Spider-Man Review of the script?

The guy posted this

Think of it this way... With Iron Man 2 you had a mix of the classics and ultimate in the film. Ultimate with the whole nick fury concept . It wasnt 100 % exact like the ultimate and classic cause every marvel movie is made on its own but this movie def pays homage to both spec and ultimate and thats all I am allowed to say. It's not going to be anything like Sam Raimi's version which was based on the classic storylines from the comics. You also had a bit of the ultimate version with eddie brock Jr. in spider-man 3 as well. In the original comics Eddie Brock was def a little older, much bigger in size, and was eddie brock. So technically what we got for spider-man 3 was the ultimate version of venom mixed in with the classic villain look. Thats why I stated that if your a fan of the ultimate and spectacular spider-man series then you will love this movie but the old school fans will not. Same reasons as to why the old school venom fans despised topher graces venom with him being like a doppleganger to peter rather then the big guy that he is in the classic comics. We all know that also topher grace's character of eddie brock jr did work at the bugle ( in the comics i think eddie brock worked at the daily globe ) rather than eddie brock jr.s and peter being best buddy's since childhood and both parents developed the symbiote that created venom. You will have a better understanding of what I meant when things are official from the studios.

I don't understand how any of you could think that this is legit?

This guy is a fraud in every sense of the word. Why **************.com would allow this to run is ridiculous. They should take it down, because it is embarrassing.

I guess it gives me a good laugh.

This guy is full of it. Isn't this the same guy that came on here and said he knows stuff but can't really say anything? The guy who was an extra in one of the movies?

He gave no new news.

Just think of the film as paying homage to ult and spec series not a DIRECT storyline. Everyone keeps asking me which storyline its based on but, I tried to give hints as to how certain characters in the marvel universe had a mix of certain series. I gave an perfect example of nick fury from the iron man films that was based on ultimate version. Venom that had a mixture of both classic and ultimate.

Don't assume that with what I mentioned that the film will entirely be based on the ultimate or spec storylines. Just take the incredible hulk film. It paid homage to the classic bill bixby tv show but was it anything like the tv show ? nope. it was a movie on its own. For the record no one took down my video, I was asked to. They are still doing revisions on the script as well so no one will know anything until its finished. I cannot discuss anything further than what I have just stated.

As far as my opinion as to which series its leaning more towards to I would say spectacular spider-man. I just hope that I don't get bad press after this because I love what they are doing with the movie and my mission for spider-man fans was to give hope and answers to those who have patiently been waiting for news since the development of spider-man 4. I also feel bad for putting down marc webb in the video back in January from what I have heard his passion towards this movie and the love of the characters is just as powerful as Sam raimis was.

I know that most of you might disagree about Sam raimis passion for the spider-man films but he did give us two epic films and the third film wasn't really his fault. For the record he did NOT despise the character of Venom, he just wasn't familiar with the character and more of a fan of the classic villains. I know that Sony will make up for all of it in this reboot.

There you go he says it will be based more on spectacular spiderman more than Ultimate, well consider this movie a Epic failure, don't waste your money on this time bomb

That's just you. :o Sounds more like an epic win to me.

Hasn't it been pseudo confirmed that Lizzie is the villain?

If it's heavily inspired by the SSM cartoon then I'm all for it!

Spectacular Spider-Man?

Were they holding up an Ultimate comic with a hole in it and watching SSM on a TV?

Regarding the review of the script, I dont know what to make of it. It seems to have a lot of things to do with SSM than anything else, and the last thing I want after seeing all of the episodes is a predictable story with all the dynamics of the show.

I like having MJ as a friend to Peter, like in SSM. It works really well if Gwen dies...I would be a bit shocked if my GF died and my mother set me up with a total stranger, and she said to me "Face it,Tiger. You just hit the jackpot". I'd be ******* fuming!!! So her consoling Peter and growing closer works better.

I just hope they get the feel of both Ultimate and SSM,without making it too predictable.

If Norman HAS to transform, then I still stand by him transforming into the 616 Goblin, instead of the horny hulk thing..

MJ was always around before Gwen died. By 'always,' I mean it was in the original comics, not just added in later interpretations like the animated series'.

District 9 is a totally different beast than Spider-Man. First off, filming in NYC is way expensive. Secondly, District 9 had no battles until the end of the movie. It was a character film for the first half that showed little to nothing and then the second half it turned into an action film. If Spider-Man only has one fight scene and is a melodramatic character film for the first 50 minutes then the movie will be weak sauce.

Filming for the reboot doesn't have to be filmed in NYC though, or the $80 million budget that we've been hearing could exclude the amount of money it costs to film in NYC; we don't really know for sure.

And also, the first Spider-Man film didn't really have an actual action scene until about forty-five minutes into the movie.

Plus the fact that Webb is getting help from the guys who made Avatar, with the 3D and its CG, so perhaps they could help Webb out on how to get as much as possible out of a tiny amount of money that Sony is letting them use.

Granted, Raimi's first Spider-Man film had $60 million more than this reboot, but there can always be more changes in either filming different areas, or perhaps you can get more out of CG almost ten years later with fewer amount of money.

And with District 9, it did a lot more besides having one true big action scene in the end; the mother ship, the aliens themselves, everything was one big CG fest.

District 9 had only big big action piece. Spider-Man had 2 if I remember correctly, Spider-Man 2 had three, and Spider-Man 3 had more than I care to remember.

All of that costs a lot of money, especially when you want to make it look good. District 9 had minimalist set pieces, filmed in cheap locations, used a lot of animatronics, used cgi sparingly, and it's main character to which the movie follows around the entire time used no cgi.

I just don't see how an epic Spider-Man movie can be made for under $80 million, especially if you want to use villains like Lizard.

They don't do much filming in NYC. It's mostly in LA and other cities. It's cheaper.

Can't believe that people still believe the 80M dollar budget.
