I think so, because The Black Dahlia, Hollywoodland and Flags of Our Fathers (they all were Oscar favs) didn't have critical success.
So I can see The Prestige, The Good Shepherd and Good German being the main movies for categories like Best Motion-Picture and Best Director.
I even think The Prestige will be able to get Best Director Award
But I think we should just wait for 2-3 weeks after it's release date, when most of critics will post their reviews.

FoOF didn't have critcal success? Don't count it out for the Oscars.. it is still one of the favorite. It it currently 100% Fresh with the "cream of the crop" critics at RT and 83/100 at metacritic.com
