The Dark Knight Reviews for THE PRESTIGE starting to come in...

If The Prestige gets enough positive reviews from critics, then it will have nominations of the main Oscar Awards.

I think so, because The Black Dahlia, Hollywoodland and Flags of Our Fathers (they all were Oscar favs) didn't have critical success.

So I can see The Prestige, The Good Shepherd and Good German being the main movies for categories like Best Motion-Picture and Best Director.

I even think The Prestige will be able to get Best Director Award

But I think we should just wait for 2-3 weeks after it's release date, when most of critics will post their reviews.
You're forgetting a little ensamble movie called- The Departed.

I say Departed will win best actor before it wins best director

but it could very well win both...it's that kinda movie.

i think the prestige will be good. the previews looks decent.
and who kares what movie critics think.

 FoOF didn't have critcal success? Don't count it out for the Oscars.. it is still one of the favorite. It it currently 100% Fresh with the "cream of the crop" critics at RT and 83/100 at metacritic.com

Yeah.. i don't really care either.. if i plan to see it.. i will see it. The critics matter if I'm undecided and having a good review will probably help me to decide to see it.

Like Happy Feets.. I'm DEFINITELY seeing that.. The previews just cracked me up.. And in 3-D? :wow: I'm THERE! :woot:

Great, but what with Jackman? He looks weird!
He's shooting a new movie called The Tourist with Ewan McGregor. I think the slick hairdo is for that film.

He also starts shooting the Nicole Kidman co-stared/ Baz directed WW2 australian epic in march.

The Man is one busy Dude.

I think The Prestige will get cinematography awards and maybe music but that's it.

I just hope they kept the ending of the book since the book is one of my favorites of all time or at the very least made a comporable kick ass ending( unlike the ******ed last 25 minutes of The departed ---IMO)

Law or Owen will be dent....prepare

lol, cinemaman. How does Jackman look weird? It's not like he has that mean chops and Logan hairdo all the time.

Well, as of now Prestige has reached 63% fresh level on RT. There are plenty more reviews to come.

67 now, so it's on the rise (knock on wood)

it'll be safe if it stays in the mid 70s. Hell, even an early 70s or late 60s is decent.

Yeah, but even if The Departed is excellent movie, it won't get Oscar Award for Best Picture, because it is thriller without happy end.

Actually, when I said this, it had only 53%.

I'm not really excited about the Prestige at all. I may catch it when I bored one day.

But this weekend, I'm seeing Burton's Nightmare Before X-Mas in 3D!

Million Dollar Baby, while bittersweet, didn't have a happy ending.

Yeah, I remember this.

I don't know. Usual Oscar choices for Best Pictures always didn't deserve it (even if they were good movie). So I think the same will happen again.

There will be competition between two main Oscar favs for this award, which will most likely end up giving award to less-deserved movie.

And I hate this.

And i was trying so hard to avoid The Departed spoilers. *sighs*

And after that movie is done he's going to start shooting Wolverine. He's been making movies and doing theater non-stop for the past 2/3 years. I hope he doesn't have some breakdown or something.

ALRIGHTY... SO I'VE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT CHRISTOPHER NOLAN IS ONE OF THE GREATEST DIRECTORS.

THE PRESTIGE WAS AMAZING!

THE DARK KNIGHT... WILL ****ING ROCK THE HOUSE!

Can you go into more detail (w/o spoiling of course) into the film, specifically the writing? This is the first time a film has been made from a script written by both Nolan brothers, so it should give us an indication of how well the 2 work together seeing as how TDK will be a repeat team-up.

I haven't seen it......but what I have heard is that the movie commands, much like all of Nolan's flicks....even BB, multiple viewings.

Which, could explain some of the negatives it's getting....I mean, a flick like that could confuse someone who will only see it once.

I have heard that it's a sad story too. But, that's all I've really heard.

Oh, and that "Abrha Cadabra" has never sounded cooler.

I'm hoping to see it today! Even if it had come out before BB I would still see it lol

Interesting.

I usually find myself agreeing with IGN's reviews. So, chances are.....I'll probably love the film.
