Screen name of the Proposed RPG’s Game Master: Johnny Blaze

Do You Have An Instant Messenger that we can reach you on for better conversation? (i.e MSN, Yahoo, AIM, etc.) And if so, what is your screen name?: Yes, and if I want to talk to you, I'll give you my ****ing screen name. :cmad:

Gamemasters/Assistant Gamemasters already chosen: Optikal; would like to have 1 more AGM to help run the show.

How will the overall layout of the RPG be?: The same as the other ongoing RPGs.

Premise of RPG, if it is a user created RPG see below for applicable additions to this Application, (Must be a paragraph or longer):

Welcome to the Future!

The year is 2099, and the world is a different place than it once was. The Age of Heroes is over, and an Age of Technology now reigns. With the heroes and villains vanishing in wake of The Great Cataclysm, it was the corporations that slowly began to take control as they helped rebuild the Earth.
Massive corporations, such as Alchemax, Stark Industries, and D/Monix, now rule the world like a global police state. Each company carving out large sectors of land as their own, and enforcing it with their own armies and hired guns.

In this society, the lower class are truly living in poverty. Many are homeless, living in slums provided by the corporations away from their cities. With no hope of a better life, many turn to religious cults to help fill their lives with meaning, worshiping the heroes of old and praying to them for salvation (most prominent being the Church of Thor and the Doomsday Church). Those not destitute live in the massive cities, under the watchful eye of the Corps.

Mutants still exist in the year 2099, but a cure to the "mutant disease" was discovered and many were stripped of their abilities. Now the remaining mutants live in small, hidden communities far away from the prying eyes of the Corps in the ever-dangerous lawless lands.
Some mutants still cling to the cities, living carefully among the humans, trying to stay undetected from prying eyes while making a decent living.

The heroes are gone, but the time is ripe and the cycle is about to begin again. Will these new super-powered beings be tools for the corporations to use in their continuing battle for supremacy? Or will they help topple the invincible giants that rule the everyday lives of the entire planet?

Only YOU can say for sure...

What will this RPG bring to the RPG forums? (please write two complete sentences):
A chance to RP in a alternate version of Marvel's 2099 universe. Posters will create a future version of Marvel characters and incorporate them into the world of 2099. Characters already established in 2099 continuity have not appeared yet.
Though if somebody wanted to play Miguel O'Hara or X'ian they may. Or they could create their own version of Spider-Man 2099 or what not. Choice is up to them.

Definitely piqued my interest.

That's good. Interest is a good thing to pique. Almost as good as piquing your...

Never mind. :o

Put me down for this. I've got the perfect character in mind.

I'd rather do another present day ROM RPG, but damn if that hasn't failed before. And twice.

Sure, why not. I'm in for this too.

Right on. So that's two definitely on board, and two possibles.

As soon as the Invasion arc in CAH is over, I was planning to drop the character of the Architect, so that would certainly free up some space to take up a character in this game. So yeah, count me in for it, although I should probably think of a character to play, considering the only 2099 character I'm really familiar with is Miguel, and I'm sure that someone else is going to pick him up right away.

I collected the 2099 series...loved it.

count me in as a 99.9% probability

The beauty of this is that this RPG is not really tied to Marvel's 2099 continuity. In this game, no heroes have appeared yet or come out of hiding if they survived the Great Cataclysm.
You could make up your own Spider-Man if you wished. Or a future version of Iron Man, or the Hulk, or Green Goblin.
Possibilities are damn near endless.

So basically it's like a cross between CAH and the Ultimate games, set in the Marvel Universe in the year 2099...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be in

You've just gotta create an alternate future version of an existing Marvel character.

Pretty much. Though all created characters must be versions of already existing Marvel characters from the mainstream continuity or 2099 continuity.

So that brings us to a count of 4 who are down. And some talented RPers to boot. Including myself, that makes the total tally of players 5. Not bad in such short time.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that if anybody is interested in being an AGM just shoot me a PM.

After much thinking, and almost settling on the idea of Dr. Octopus 2099, I know which character I'm going to apply for.

It's funny, I was considering the possibilities of rebooting the Rise of Marvels idea myself, only I was going to go the opposite route, and set it in the early 1960s, to tie it in culturally to the ACTUAL rise of Marvel. But I'll be interested to see how this idea works out.

I am interested. As for who to play, I have no idea yet.

See, this is why me and you need to talk more often. :o

Donc, je suppose que vous êtes intéressé?

I'm in.

Definitely.
Happy to have you in the game, if it gets off the ground. But, are you feeling well enough to jump back in?

Someone's enthusiastic.
Does you're posting here mean you are as well? :oldrazz:

Plenty of time to come up with a concept. Good to have you're stankin' ass aboard though.

FYI, like most RPGs, there will be a two-character limit.
