If it is true, and she simply takes the name, I think the idea is the all encompassing nature of the name. Luke and Leia are both Skywalkers. They are her spiritual guides. How Rian wrote TLJ hurts it in regard to Luke, but there seems to be a lot of heavy, "we are doing it the way we intended" anyways to all this. Also it seems Rey's biggest scene in this movie is going to be with Luke and it sounds like a great one.

It's less boring than her actually being a Skywalker, but I'm just hoping it plays better than it reads.

In terms of story or images? Because the story is out, basically in full. The images were coming from someone completely different.

EXCLUSIVE Hayden Christensen is definitely redux in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” I am told this is confirmed, Anakin Skywalker, who became Darth Vader, is the grandfather of evil Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). The word is he will appear as a force ghost, just as Yoda returned in “The Last Jedi.” Christensen is said to have filmed his scenes last year.

There were rumors of Anakin’s return in September and even last April. But I’m told it’s solid, Christensen is back, and that his appearance will give a jolt to his dormant career. He’s mostly been in D list movies the last few years. He’s always been kind of a wooden actor, although I liked him as Bob Dylan in “Factory Girl.”

Anakin appeared in “Attack of the Clones” and “Return of the Sith” aka Episodes 2 and 3 of the George Lucas prequels. Why bring him back? I’m told that JJ Abrams will slavishly wrap up the 42 years of “Star Wars” by dotting every i and crossing every t. (Please god that doesn’t mean Jar Jar Binks, however.) Anakin will tie together all the “Star Wars” movies and Abrams makes “Rise” his “Gotterdammerung.” (See Wagner.)

There is also strong possibility we’ll see Harrison Ford as Han Solo one last time. Remember, I told you this. Knowing JJ, there’s quite possibly a final shot of Han, Luke, and Leia to make the audience burst into tears. So stand by.

We know Han appears to Kylo as a vision, when he "dies" and Ben is "resurrected". If they add Han to the "Force Ghost" bit at the end, I will die.

He's not a Jedi he has no Force Powers. This would be the stupidest moment in the entire movie if it happens. This wont be cool this will be ****ing stupid. Especially if hes in any mirror shot that mirrors ROTJ. All of this will be ****ing stupid hes dead hes a human with no force powers the end. Even with force powers its established one has gotta learn & train to come back with the exception of Anakin / his off spring due to the chosen one shenanigans

The thing that I get hung up on is he doesn't know the Force. The movie would either need to make it very clear that this is a different type of vision, or establish that force users can make any ghost appear before them or something.

The best choice would've been Leia, and I'm still so sad we'll never see a scene of Carrie and Adam together. As much as I love Han, I hope it's Luke or Anakin he sees.

This is correct. Prior to his rejuvenation he's old and decrepit. Wearing his ROTJ robes and is in a crane support chair that can move him around. In the trailer it's barely noticeable but in the over shoulder shot of him looking down at Rey he is moving towards Rey in his crane support chair. After he rejuvenates he has new red and black robes and sits on the carved stone throne.

It's a reference to Avatar the Last Airbender. Zuko is a baddie who ends up a goodie. My favorite thing about that is she seems to have said that like a week after those photos hit. We have all seen them.

I do find it funny when people seem to get mad at new Force abilities being used. These are Space Wizards. Conjuring some robes should be easy for the dark side master. Especially after we saw Luke do it with a projection last film.

Since it was so late I assumed maybe someone sent her a new one. She's trash so I didn't look further into it.
