Yeah, he once gave me a sketch for free.

First he started with a Cap bust, but didn't like it so he tore the page out. Then he tried Cable, but again, ripped it out. Then he spent about 10 seconds slopping one of the worst face sketches of Badrock ever. Jeph Loeb was sitting next to him (back in the Awesome ent. days) and made fun of him because Badrock is always the default guy he draws at cons.

But yeah, I can see his concerns with his kids not being totally grabbed. Oh well, we'll have to see what his kids thought once they see the movie.

i knew someone was gonna say that. how am i being a jerk? i'm not going up to him and calling his artwork trash. his proportions are similar to the way Liefeld would make his and if that offends him then i'm sorry. if someone came up to me and told me my drawings look like Liefeld's then i'd be disappointed but it's not like they're calling my work utter trash...i was just referring to the proportions of Superman, not the rendering.

if you wanna call that jerky of me, fine...but i don't consider it disrespect until it becomes hateful and i'm not hating on the 3d model of Supes (i actually think it looks pretty darn cool)...i'm hating on Liefeld.

You used his artwork (which he does as a hobby, not as a job) to make a joke. Your line about someone telling you if your art looked like Liefeld's, guess what? You didn't tell him. He isn't even involved in the thread. Thats why you're a jerk.

Well, the guy has a bad rep with fan's and peers. He may be a nice guy in person, but it's not his personality selling the comics.

As far as his Superman comments, well, as anyone else with doubts about this film, we will see at the end of the month if he won or lost on Superman.

The only thing that matters is that SR earns enough for WB to greenlight a definite sequel.....other than that I care nothin about the opening gross. I've been waitin for this film for 18 years and everyone I know could care less about SR. Still, small kids will adore the movie, comic nerds in the their early 30s will love this movie, middle/high school kids won't care much (they don't care much about anything anyway, but they got nothing better to do on the weekends and will still come see the movie), dating couples will flock to the theaters....the movie bring in a ton. Will it be record breaking? Eh, just don't matter....all that matters is if it earns enough for a sequel to be guaranteed.

Rob Liefeld does bring up some good points. Superman Returns unfortunately has to deal with Pirates 2. Plus it doesn't feel like it has been hyped as much as X-Men 3 was. I hope the film can overcome the odds though.

Wasn't the JJ Abrams script the one where he had that living suit and Lex reveals himself to be a Kryptonian? I like Lost, but that script was dumb. I guess ideas can't all be winners.

No need to worry! Superman Returns will be hyped by the audiences who have seen it.The positive feedback that X3 lacked. I'll be a masterpiece. As for Liefeld, he is entitled to an opinion, but a he is sadly lacking in his reasoning. Thank God he is not supervising SR! When SR is a collossal blockbuster, He'll say he knew it would be good all along! Nah, I say ignore 'em, and prepare to be amazed by SR!
