Rob Zombie "re-imagines" Michael Myers!

Did you just call King Kong an old crappy movie?

Now, I hate to call names or be offensive, but that's ******* ******ed.

I think he was talking in terms of effects.

hmm.... could be good.

being a horror buff im sure rob zombie wouldnt mess it up.

I went back, and I disagree. He seemed to be posting in general terms of movie quality.

Even if it was about special effects, that's stupid. Kong had advanced effects that were milestones in cinema history.

I agree that FOR ITS TIME King Kong had amazing effects but compared to today's technology they look pretty crappy. I have had this argument with another person before...lol.

Hell, they were great for years after.

You can't call something like that crappy. You may refer to it as dated, but it is in no way bad. There's no possible way O'brien could have done a better job, and the effects still can compete with some modern claymation/stopmotion.

I'm not calling them crappy I am calling them crappy COMPARED TO THE NEWEST KONG. I am not trying to put it down.

If Zombie respected the genre, he should know THERE'S NO FRIGGIN REASON AT ALL TO REMAKE "HALLOWEEN"!

Horse****. Dimension backed the franchise into a corner with Halloween: Resurrection. Theres nothing to do BUT start over at this point.

Think of it like comics. When the continuity is **** upon bad enough and repeatedly(and it definitely has been with Halloween), then its eventually going to require a restart. These films have a fan base. They have to do something with the character, and due to the direction hes been taken the last few years there isn't anything left to do in this continuity.

Its either a shot at taking the series back to it's frightening, suspenseful, and unconvoluted roots(Halloween was very simple and thats part of why it was great) or we get another ****ty sequel. One we know we're getting screwed for sure, the other we at least have a chance at something good.

it irks me when my favourite horror movies are remade..but i still have the originals and can just pretend the others don't exist......i've thought all the one's i've seen so far didn't live up to the originals at all (mostly in terms of story and characterization). the only one i can stand really is the dawn of the dead remake..and only when i watch it as "just another zombie movie" and not actually "dawn of the dead" as for TCM, psycho, the ring, the grudge etc... etc... they all don't exist as far as i'm concerned... a halloween remake will most likely fit into the same category...but we'll see

They already techincally did a restart though. H20 ignored all the films after Halloween 2. I disagree when you say another sequel would be ****ty no matter what. I would much rather Zombie do a sequel.

I think they should have made one more with the currents series where they FINALLY kill him off and show his face and then reimagine it.

Theres only oneway to save the halloween movies and that John Carpentor. Nothing else can save its thats for sure.

It didn't ignore the first two films though, so I don't think it was a true re-start.

The problem is that Michael is supposed to be the personification of evil. Hes not supposed to be humanized. He was made less and less scary over time by introducing elements that "explained" him, like the sister plotline, Thorn etc.

ALL of the sequels suffer from this, so how could they make ANOTHER sequel without it following the same pattern? The only way I can think of to do this besides a remake is to ignore all of the previous Halloweens except the original and do a direct sequel to it. Otherwise you're dealing with the baggage of ****ty plots that take away the mystery and scariness of the character.

Hence the TECHNICALLY a restart because it restarted the line of sequels. Its very confusing and angering all of these restarts, prequels, remakes, etc. Just make the ****ing movie right. I would like to see ANOTHER sequel restart after H2O but that would just be way too confusing for people. So a sequel CAN work but it would difficult to pull off successfully. A remake has a chance of working but I have to see more.

If they would bring back Jamie Lee Curtis one more time to finish Michael off and then do a restart, that would've been awesome. I can't take much "dangertainment." But I think Rob Zombie is the perfect person to reimagine this franchise. Just hope he brings back the white mask and the classic theme.

It Dimension truly backed Mixchael into a corner...THEN STOP DOING "HALLOWEEN" MOVIES ALREADY!

If there's nothing else to be done about the franchise, why keep doing more movies? Just let it rest in peace.

Rob should film Laurie Strode waking up screaming at the top of her lungs in her hospital bed from the nightmare that was Halloween Resurrection. It was only a bad dream. Busta Rhymes did NOT take down Michael Myers

Man you got that right! The fact that Busta lives at the end after calling Michael a "mother fucker" and beating him down is a complete travesty.

I was so pissed leaving that theater that I chucked a half full bucket of popcorn into the trash at the entrance and accidentally showered the kid usher with popcorn.

^^ Good. That little f#cker deserved the popcorn shower for just taking your ticket and not warning and letting you know you'd be better off getting your money refunded know full well how crap Resurrection was.

I wish I could say its for us horror fans, but we all know Dimension wants to make a buck. But you have to understand, characters like Michael, Jason, and Freddy are modern-day monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein. They aren't the types of characters that just go away.
