Rob Zombie "re-imagines" Michael Myers!

I just meant that he is very knowledgeable, and he takes filmmaking very seriously. He respects the genre and will do anything to for the movie. I mean, he had to take Ho1KC around to different studios for like 3 years because no one wanted it. I'm just saying that he cares, and he's dedicated.

Oh yeah I agree that he takes OTHER movies seriously but his have been very...can't think of a word. Thats one thing I am hoping for that he respects the old film and is not just gonna take Michael Myers and make some ****ed up teen version like other horror classics recently.

I don't think we have to worry about this being made to suit the masses. Like you said, I just hope that he respects the original.

This is good news, can't wait to see what he does with it.

I'm also looking forward to the Friday the 13th prequel/re-imagination.

I don't know why you would think Zombie might do this. I think hes actually one of the few directors in the genre right now who ISN'T making teen-oriented, WB/Scream-style, PG-13 crap.

New Line hasn't confirmed anything yet on that front. We don't know for sure yet whether the next Friday will be another direct sequel or a reboot.

Actually, I hope in the case of Friday they do another sequel and end the old series before remaking it. I think it would be cool if they did a direct sequel to The Final Chapter with a grown Tommy Jarvis to end it, then go on and do the remake.

I'm personally still waiting for that director's cut of House of 1000 Corpses he promised us before it even hit theaters!

If it is a remake or sorts, then I wonder what Michael Myers' mask will look like?

Halloween is just as much about Dr. Loomis and Laurie as it is about Michael and you can't duplicate (or replace) those characters with another actor/actress. If there's one movie that should be left alone it's this one. Zombie isn't proven enough as a director to handle something this big as far as I'm concerned.

There has not been a good John Carpenter remake yet.

We shall see.

I dunno, I think the importance of Dr. Loomis as a character goes beyond the actor playing him. But noone will ever be quite like Donald Pleasance in the role of course.

Sid Haig is a good possible candidate.

I'm digging this idea. If there's anyone to trust not to turn this into teenie booper s**t, it's Rob Zombie.

This is actually MORE sacrilegous than "The Da Vinci Code".

The best movie is NO REMAKE.

If Zombie respected the genre, he should know THERE'S NO FRIGGIN REASON AT ALL TO REMAKE "HALLOWEEN"!

It's already perfect as it is.

What's next, a remake of "Buckaroo Banzai" and "Gone With the Wind"?

What's with all the negativity about remakes? I never understood this or the hate for comic book movies being deviant. It's not like anyone's pulling a Lucas where they're literally going back and changing the original. I see it as quite the opportunity to see what could be done with it today and if it sucks then there is still the original.

Most of the remakes these days seem like Hollywood's well has gone dry and they are literally going into past successes and trying make more off of them. On rare occassions like King Kong, which benefits from today's technological advances, I think a remake is a great idea.

Only old, crappy movies like "The Fly" and "King Kong" benefit from remakes.

"Halloween" is the ultimate slasher movie. It is by no means crappy.

Halloween is KING of all slasher movies, and arguably all horror movies, bar none. It's a masterpiece, a cinematic classic, I only wish the producers would've stuck with the original concept for Halloween movies; that of different premises for every film, like Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch had. Money talks though, and this case, Michael Myers = $$$. Carpenter should've put him to rest for good in the first film, another half hour would've done it, the movie only runs for about 90 minutes as is.

Original Halloween is one of my all-time-favorite movies. So I don't like the news of a remake.

Zombie is awesome musician, but dunno about his directorial thingies. Haven't seen neither of his films.

Oh damn. I actually had a horrible thought. I hope they don't try to give Michael motive. :(

Im not much of a fan of the Halloween series, but I'll see anything Zombie does. I've been a big fan of him for years, both his music and his movies.

They probably will. And it will suck. Big time.

Personally, I'm not worried really. If its good, then it will be popular and if it isn't it will fade into the annals of "we don't care and pretend that movie never happened"

Did you just call King Kong an old crappy movie?

Now, I hate to call names or be offensive, but that's ******* ******ed.

Don't like it but while I'm at it .....

Ian Holm (the priest from the Fifth Element) for Dr. Loomis
