According to the script, he was simply perceived to be a bad man due to the circumstances he found himself in.

Agreed. I would've much rather seen a movie where the Sheriff is simply the Sheriff but is sympathetic in a Javert-esque way instead of some silly plot where he is both the Sheriff and Robin Hood.

Ditto. That's what this script has in it. There's no "dual role" thing going on. I kind of wonder if this is either some kind of filmmaking stunt, or if they've rewritten the script quite a bit since.

Sienna Miller Departs "Nottingham"

Sienna Miller has dropped out of Ridley Scott's Robin Hood epic feature "Nottingham" reports The Los Angeles Times.

The reason for the departure isn't quite clear though an insider claims that the reason is due to the age difference between the actress and star Russell Crowe, combined with him having not lost the weight he put on for "Body of Lies".

"Producers are looking for an older, plumper actress to play the role - someone in her late 30s or early 40s" says the source. Crowe is also allegedly said to have demanded serious script rewrites.

Shooting on the production has been moved back from February to April, pushing the film into a 2010 release.

but others mention that such a departure would have been provoked by too many rewritings of the script causing the role of marianne to be much smaller than it was before.....(and one mentions that such changes come from only one person: Russel himself )!

This film is going to be horrible. I just have a bad feeling about it. I would like it to be good but with everything going on with it before it's even start filming is sounding like it's a cluster. And Crowe...who does he seriously think he is and why is Ridley buying into it?

I know she's pretty but she can barely act. The only reason she's even famous is because of a) Jude Law b) that she managed to fashion herself into a poor man's Kate Moss. I think she's so over-rated and annoying. Plus she really doesn't strike me as Maid Marion at all. Someone like Kate Winslet would be much better .

She doesn't strike me as a Maid Marian type either, but she's a good actress. She was excellent in a little film called "Interview" with Steve Buscemi and I also liked her in Layer Cake.

I'm pretty confident that GI Joe will suck, but that's because I have no faith in Stephen Summers.

I didn't mean lookswise. Miller copies a lot of Moss's style, without doing so in the same effortless way Moss does. Miller just comes off looking like a pratt. But that's another soapbox for me I suppose.

Some of the gossip out there is strange, Crowe seems to have a good professional relationship with Ridley Scott. Would be a shock if true he is trying to get Scott out of the project.
