That was then, this is now. Even though Nolan has commented about Robin's future, only he himself knows when the time is right in order for him too make an appearence. Right now, he doesn't feel the need of introducing him yet.

Today in Hollywood the right time is when audiences/fans claim it. Which is the worst reason ever to do anything.

Holy crap, we agree on something!

Does anyone remember what screwed up the last franchise. "Hey Mr. Keaton will you be in Batman 3 if Robin is in it?", studios. Keaton sighs, "Ummm....No!" the studio guy sighs as well and says, "Okay, see ya. Hey!", studio guy shouts to secretary, "Can we get Val Kilmer in here pronto and tell Burton to let us buy the rights already!"

Robin ruined it once should we try try again?

Good thing that's not at all how it happened. But nice try. WB didn't want Burton back and Keaton wouldnt' go without Burton. There were far more things wrong with Batman Forever than just Robin.

the arguements here for robin are cute. slightly delusional, but cute. it's like some of you have no concept of aesthetics, mood, or tone. robin would not fit well with this cast and how it's being presented. it would be more distracting than anything. imagine if robin were in the 89 movie and how well he'd have fit in. he probably would have served as the comic relief and promptly killed by alfred out of annoyance.

Robin's peanut butter to batman's Jelly.

Really? When was that?

I can't exactly remember, but it was in some documentary thing back when we were all anticapating begins to begin.

Really guys, robin can work if done well. The same way batman can be scewed up if done badly... the question is if Nolan has what it takes to do robin justice in a way he's never really had (sorta had in forever.) The kids' a little slice of sanity in an insane life for batman.............we all have our little robins.

Gordon won't always be there to knock down bridges for batman.

However you put it, as concerning to Robin, it always ends being gay-sounding.

Robin HAS made it campy. Theres no reason to say he can't be done right........well, there is reason to say he can make it campy, but Bats has been done campy as well.....well all remember that debacle right? Given the right writer/director/actor, i think we can have a decent, vengefull young man (for example Chris O'donnel was perfect age for the part IMO) but we don't need it yet. I want plenty of movies for Bats to establish himself and become dependent on himself before having a tag-along. Not to mention, the only reason I'd want a robin is to further Bruce/Bat's character development. It's all about bruce, if it influences bruce's character signifigantly then go for it (after a couple more films) but i don't want him there, just to be there. Robin needs to be dark, vengeful, maybe a little witty from time to time, but overall essential to the theme of the story. So lets wait a while on the boy wonder alright?

I originally wanted to post

Robin's the buns to batman's weiner

but didn't for that reason.

He's a crappy concept to begin with. And had little to nothing to do with the Batman concept, except that they put it there to engage younger readers.

Thats the raeson.

Of course we can

The young man it's called Bruce Wayne and you can see his story in Batman Begins.

We're plenty of characters for that purpose. gordon, Luicius, Alfred, Rachel, Harvey Dent, Joker, Two Face, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, etc etc etc.

In any case, Robin is needless.

Listen, this gone on long enough. We've fighting to either have robin or not to. Now why don't we do a poll on it vote on whta we want. That includes as follows:

Having robin

not having robin

darkening robin

camping robin

The choice is yours to make.

He may have been a crappy concept to begin with, but good writers have turned him into a great character and an integral part of the mythos. Robin doesn't have to run around in pixy boots and green underwear and spout puns beginning with "Holy". He doens't have to be a walking gay joke, it's just the way that most people are familiar with him.

Batman doesn't have to have a teenie side-kick, it's just the way that most people are familiar with him.

but robin's the spock to batma's kirk.

The Obi to batman's wan

The iceberg to batanic

I in between bringing robin:

1) I think Robin should be in the movie. But, not that much have fight crime with Batman every now and again. Because i don't think Batman would have fight crime on a school night.

But:

2) I don't think that they should have Robin because in Batman Begins the bruises on Bruce, bloody heel. If Robin went to school and someone saw that tehy'd phone child line thinking Bruce'd beat him.

well he might have one a little more than train with yoda, yes.

^ The right metaphor at last.

Robin is the Schumacher to Batman's franchise.
