The only thing I hope is that they keep the classic design because to me it so awesome...

I´d love to see the classic design too, but when I read the word "re-imagining" I start to lose faith in this project...

I don't care what else they do like if they get rid of Lewis, or hell if they have it somewhere other than Detroit, I just want the classic design with perhaps a few tweaks if necessary.

God, that posters a bonafide classic.

Robo's is one of the best reveals to an audience in modern cinema.

You see the iconic sillouette through the Police station partition accompanied by that >thump<....>thump< noise of incredibly heavy feet.

Gotta keep the classic design.

I hope those tweaks don´t include a "glamour flashing red visor"...:woot:

Also, I think 2010 it´s too near to have that movie, they even don´t have a script. Only the name of the director and the writer...
If they´ll change the design a little bit, maybe they would try to make it more like the TDK suit. I mean, with the old design but less bulky, to make Robo a little bit thin...

I´d want to ask what kind of composer do you think will do a good job in this new movie? My choice would be Hans Zimmer. He handles well the combination of orchestra and electronic sounds (like he did in Begins and TDK). The bad thing is that we won´t have the classic Poledouris motiv... :csad:

i think they should update the designe.
in 2008 they can do better. not a complete redesigne. but some things were not possibe in hte 80's.

i dissagree because Robocop looks good already. The only thing that they can do is to streamline him a little bit. other than that, he's timeless looking.

One things for sure, after re-watching Robo 2 the other night -

This new movie should give us some absolutely sick CGI Robot/Android action.

The kind that we all obviously crave.

It'll most likely be Clint Mansell.

I hope the new RoboCop is faster than the original. 1980s RoboCop moved like Frankenstein.

I hope we won´t use CGI for every frame of the movie. It would look fake. It would look really crappy if they change the RoboCop atmosphere to a Star Wars prequels´ universe...

just because you saw some crap CGI in some movies doesnt mean it cna not look real.
WETA and ILM. ILM did iron man. it looked 100 % realistic.

I should check Iron Man then. Anyway, some people wants to see a 3d RoboCop instead of an actor in a suit... I don´t know.

Also I was talking about the use of CGI in almost all the parts of the movie. I think the people who did Iron Man did the film in real places, not in front of a green-screen like the Star Wars movies. That´s what I´m trying to say.

CGI/3d Robocop is ridiculous. It should be a guy in a suit. Dont underestimate costumers, prop artists and make up artists.

Yep! So I hope we´ll get an actor inside Robo, and a suit with the look of the original...

What's this nonsense about wanting Robocop to move faster? The meticulously designed way in which Weller moved was one of strongest points of the performance. The failure of subsequent actors to live up to that standard was one of the major reasons that Weller is the only one to nail the performance.

Yes i agree we should get an actor in a suit and playing most scenes but there could be a few times were a cgi version might be good to do.

Who could replace Peter Weller? Any suggestions?
