This site has lullaby renditions of all sorts of stuff, and it's creepy hearing songs like NIN's "Closer" done as a lullaby. Check it out, they've got albums of the Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, the Eagles, Metallica, the Cure, Led Zeppelin, etc.

:up::up:

I change some of the words to this song and slow it right down when I sing my son a lullabye:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF1jcBMvjbI

"And then while I'm away,
I'll think of you all day"

"I'll pretend that I'm kissing,
This face I've been missing"

haha Mother by Pink Floyd as a lullaby? How ironic if a mom plays that for her baby as it depicts mother's in a VERY bad light

That is odd. Really odd.

What, my post or one of the others?

I almost always adapt songs and substitute words. My son's name is two sylables, so any song with the word BABY gets his name in it instead.

and if I think the song has an inappropriate verse, I modify it...

"Down will come baby,
Cradle and all"

got changed to

"Mommy will catch you,
Cradle and all"

and I added a verse to "Twinkle Twinkle"

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star
You're a sun shining from afar
Your light's travelled through space and time
Many years to reach these eyes of mine
Twinkle, twinkle, little star
Now I know just what you are"

the samples on the webpage arn't working so i can only listen to the ones on the myspace page. strangely enough i had an idea a few days ago of an album that would go through various styles every increasing in compexity. the first track would be a lullaby.
