Apocalypse Rose Byrne is BACK as Moira MacTaggert

I'm neutral about the character, but my Cherik shipping friends will not like it at all, since Moira is not popular in the fandom/fanfiction community.

I like Rose Byrne as an actress, but the character did nothing for me in First Class.

I know they needed the close-minded human character to get people invested in the mutant's story, but I hope this time her character is more likeable.

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. She was one of my favorite characters from First Class, so I'm excited to have her back and get to catch up with the character!

How was she closed-minded in First Class?! She was the only one in the CIA that believed mutants existed and went out of her way to search for them. She was also the only one that was on Xavier/Erik's side in the CIA, she was on the mission with them to stop the events happening in Cuba.

I liked her a bit in First Class, but a friend of mine thought she was the typical human, who raised a gun to kill what they fear.

The close-minded thing was from a debate I had with a friend about the possibilty of Moira coming back. I was all for it, but my friend wasn't for it, since she didn't like the character.

It's been a long time since First Class. I'd like to see some great development in Moira, maybe the possibility of quitting the CIA after the events in Cuba and started a new path.

It would be cool for Moira to have traveled around the world, discovering new mutants and understanding them, which can give her a new purpose.

Since it's true, I'm open to the possibilities of what they can do with the character now, since time has passed by. :yay:

I'm happy she's returning it'll be nice to see Muir island, or what if she's responsible for awakening Apocalypse. Researching mutants way back to ancient Egypt

I never thought of it, but it can be apart of her traveling theory I had, since going to Egypt can be a good little history scene about the story of Apocalypse.

I hope she gets to be her own character, instead of a shoe-horned love interest for Charles.

They better let her be independent and develop her as a character. :woo:

Moira goes traveling will be the breather from all the tension and sadness.

Well given he erased her memory in FC we can only guess either charles has to go to her for help or she goes to him for help about something similar to how she did in FC when she didn't know him

Yeah, Damages is one of my favorites TV Shows too. That's why I think she is so great playing a CIA Agent. That's the kind of character that works for her.

She could be exposed to them by the 80's, given the nature of her job and mutantkind's "coming out" in the 70's at the end of DOFP.

She shot at Magneto to try and stop him from killing hundreds if not thousands of people. Him being a Mutant didn't really factor into it.

One of my favorite things about FC was Byrne as Moira. This is very welcomed news.

I'm glad Kinberg's comments make it seem she wont be as underused this time around.

I seriously doubt she's going to have a large role. There are already a ton of characters in this movie.

Ok..? That's not what I said.

If you don't mean "won't have a decent sized role or a bigger one than in FIRST CLASS", then what exactly do you mean by "won't be as underused"?

She was underused in FC because in the first act she's practically the female lead who is introduced with her own ideas and motives, she has a significant baring on the way the plot of the film takes shape, she's then set up with a connection to the protagonist, then quickly vanishes right after.

And now, according to Kinberg, “She’s a significant character in the movie." So, now we're back to my original comment.

Not sure what you mean by vanished, unless you mean at the end of the film after she's mindwiped.

As for Kinberg's comments, sounds like an awfully fancy way to say "She's a plot device".

Kinberg talks out of his ass all the time. I'll buy this with a grain of salt.

I think you're confusing Kinberg with Millar.
