Roseanne Returns and Leaves Again

Given that the show ended with the revelation that the show, as we knew it, was a fiction created to help Roseanne cope with Dan's loss and life's other shortcomings, I say take it one step further into mindf*** territory. Go Mulholland Drive with it. Go Bates Motel with it and have Roseanne maintain full conversations with Dan, even while the rest of the family is like "WTF is wrong with you?"

I need a Married With Children revival so they can end it properly.

Not a fan of this unless they do something out there like Sawyer suggested.

You know, this actually kinda works. DJ was certainly weird enough to be a David Lynch character. And they had two different actresses play Becky, so in this revival, they could bring both of them back and randomly switch them out at different points on the show.

It's on, and Lecy will be playing Becky again.

I'd been so caught up in the Dan aspect of it all, I hadn't thought about the fact that the actors playing Becky and Darlene's husbands are, respectively, dead and the lead of a sitcom that CBS will almost certainly not allow them to stray from. Wonder how they move past that...

From what I have heard, Mark died in the Iraq war. I suppose it's possible Johnny Galecki could do a cameo or two, or Darlene came out, like Sara Gilbert did in real life, and she is no longer married to David.

Wait...John Goodman is coming back? What the hell?

Yeah, unless they do something completely off the wall like in my first post, I don't see how they back themselves out of that ending. With Will and Grace, at least I can see it. That finale was a lot of time jumps they can write off as being just a dream one of the characters had, and just move forward from there. It wasn't a firm declaration that the co-lead character of the show had died and that what we had been seeing was a book that the main character was writing to cope and heal herself. I think there was a poignancy to that ending, especially after the s***show of a season leading up to it, that would be a shame to do away with.

I mean, John Goodman has a pretty successful film career still. Why is he coming back? Did they pay him a ton of dough?

I'm just not getting it. They had to have shelled out to get back at lease Roseanne Barr and John Goodman right? Plus backend and all that stuff.

Just saw the promo teaser on ABC a minute ago. Just a black screen with the words in the classic font. "Years ago....the face of television...was changed.....with one sound.....*cue the classic Roseanne laugh*. Coming back to ABC.

That's it.

The simple solution is to pretend that awful, awful final season is to pretend it never existed. A few years back I rewatched the entire series again start to finish, only I could not stomach the last season past the first three or so episodes so I skipped to the last episode.

The fact everyone intentionally torpedoed the final season to end the series was evident by how bad it was.

You're an odd one Mr. Sawyer......

Turns out Johnny Galecki will be back for one episode of the Roseanne revival.

Not interested in this at all. If there was ever a show that didn’t need to be revisited, it’s this one. And Roseanne is a piece of Trump-loving garbage.

This was a brilliant sitcom for it's time but they killed the show with the final season. There's no recovery from it in my opinion. i'm just not willing to roll with this

Obviously they intend to pretend that final horrendous season never happened which is good. Everything from the very brief clips acts as though it never happened.

I still don't want to touch this one. That final season is still pretty memorable despite being awful.

I know what you mean about that. I rewatched the entire series a few years back and I just couldn't get past the first few episodes of the last season before skipping straight to the finale episode of the series and still finding it a major disappointment.

Of all the episodes of Roseanne, the ones I have never seen were from the final season.

And just like that, Oprah throws her hat into the ring.

Roseanne Barr: “I Would Be A Better President Than Oprah” — TCA

Less than a day after Oprah gives a speech and lady Trump is already looking to start beef.

She’s a piece of human garbage. She thinks she’s representing the “working class” by supporting a racist billionaire who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and then says it’s “Unamerican” to hate people who voted for said racist billionaire. But apparently it’s not Unamerican for voters to turn a blind eye to sexual assault, openly racist policies and conspiring with the Russians to steal an election just because they want to piss off the Democrats.

I hope this show fails and she goes away forever. John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf should be ashamed of themselves for signing on to work with this piece of trash.
