Rub & Tug

My only issue with Scarlett Johansson being cast as Dante Gill is that Johansson looks nothing like Gill and seems inappropriate for the part. There's other women who'd be a lot better casting, even someone like Melissa McCarthy who's proven she can play a straight dramatic role, would physically and probably acting-wise fit the part way better than Johansson.

It'd seem a little silly to cast someone who looks absolutely nothing like a person and then slather tons of makeup, prosthetics, and padding on them, when they can easily cast someone else who's a lot more physically in the ballpark and frankly could probably just play the part better anyway.

The people complaining about the casting want more awareness and attention brought to transgender people and stories. The irony is that having Scarlett Johansson in this movie would've gotten more people to see it, which would create more awareness and attention. Now it's, probably, never going to get made. Good job, dip****s.

This whole thing could end with like one question.

"So in a biopic about say, Harriet Tubman. You think you should be on the list to play her?"
Yeah, leave Tubman for Halle Berry at least. It's not like this movie is actually coming out, but I think you could use the Christopher Reeve style casting and cast an unknown transgender person and the rest of the parts with celebrities. Scarlett looks bad with these comments.

Scarlett Johansson is RIGHT.
PC extremists/SJW went overboard. I'm sick of them. Which doesn't mean I'm on the opposite side. But I'm not on board with witchhunters and extremist SJWs, either. They've become almost as bad as what they're fighting.

Let's be honest, this Dante character is hardly a role model for the LGBTQ community... no more than Buffalo Bill in SOTL.

However, Scarlet Johansen is all wrong for this... but I don't get it, it's a woman who presented as a man. so why can't a woman act on screen, as a woman presenting to be a man... why so hurt?

Mellissa McArthy would be best... as would Viola Davis, Toni Colette, Anne Ramsey would have been perfect.

Dante Gill wasn't a woman dressed as a man. He was a trans man. There aren't a lot of roles for trans people, so that's why they're asking for representation here.
