At least the Hulk is wearing purple pants this time round.

I really hope that Hulk starts moving in a similar direction as he has in comics before where he decides to stop trying to cure the Hulk and to use that part of himself to help out while also utilizing his intelligence in human form.

I'd like to see Banner in the films have that complex of being a little outdated scientifically due to battling with the Hulk...feeling a little inferior to guys like Stark and trying to keep up.

That would be a really interesting angle to explore beyond the Hulk just being an "unstable" monster.

I fully expect them to go that angle, even if not through an adaptation of the Indestructible Hulk run.

If AoU doesn't leave him a wreck, or as a mindless Hulk, then I'm sure we'll hear of Bruce continuing to science it up, and maybe even hero it up as the green guy, throughout Phase 3 and beyond.

If the rumors are true about General Ross working with Stark in Civil War, then there'd be some great set up and references there. I'd love to see how Ross feels about Banner being allowed to be a big hero in the eyes of the public, or the fact that Stark was a safe haven to Bruce for a while (though I'm thinking Bruce is definitely not hanging out with Tony anymore after the Ultron incident).

I don't think Banner himself will be in Civil War, but it'll be interesting to see if he appears or has any relevance in the greater MCU after Ultron. I hope he does, but I'm thinking he'll probably be relegated to a smaller role in Infinity War. After that, who knows ?

If budgets allowed, Ruffalo would be excellent at having his own Hulk series, but the money they'd need is the problem.

In the after credit scene in TIH, Stark is offering Ross his services to help battle the Hulk with his hardware. Then all of a sudden come Avengers Stark is a huge fan of Banner, and the big green rage monster. I'd think that's a plot hole or just very odd, and lazy writing. Unless TIH is loosely retconned in the MCU. We haven't seen follow ups with Ross, Betty, Blonsky, or Sterns.

They retconned (or rather, clarified) that in the One Shot: The Consultant

I found a bootleg of it on Youtube, but I'm probably not allowed to post that. So I'll do my best to describe it.

Coulson discusses with Sitwell about how the World Security Counsel wants Blonsky (The Abomination) as part of the Initiative, with all charges cleared and such because they see him as a "war hero". Coulson and Nick Fury obviously aren't fond of that idea. But Fury can't ignore the request.

General Ross has custody of Blonsky, and at the time of the discussion, SHIELD has 24 hours to send someone down to Ross to make a request for a prisoner they don't even want.

So they send Tony as a patsy (he's been brought onto the Initiative as a consultant at this time, obviously after the events of both TIH and Iron Man 2) because they know he's capable of pissing off the general so much that he'll refuse the request. As Coulson puts it, "Someone who will offend the general to his very core".

It then cuts to that post credit scene of Tony walking into the bar. He never actually offers his hardware, it's more of a jab at Ross's failed revival of the super soldier serum project (basically, in a very Tony Stark way, "your science is dumb, my science is better").

It then cuts to a follow up of Coulson and Sitwell's discussion. Mission success, Blonsky stays in his cage, and general Ross got so mad he tried to get Tony removed from the bar. Tony responded by buying the bar and scheduling it for demolition.

~

So basically Tony was never on Ross's side, in fact, quite the opposite. The circumstances of them working together post-AoU however, is strange but interesting. Then again, it is but a rumor.

~

But yes, they really need to follow up on the crew soon. It's very odd we haven't heard about Betty at the very least. Wouldn't Bruce be at least somewhat concerned about her? I mean, Thor got a scene clarifying that Jane was safely away from New York. I fear they may even recast everyone at this point. Which is a shame, cause I liked Liv Taylor in the role.

Liv wasn't bad, but I preferred Jennifer Connolly myself (I also preferred Sam Elliot to William Hurt as General Ross).

I disagree completely. The Hulk should be able to be pulled off without having an insanely high budget.

As amazing as Guardians of the Galaxy looks (for $170 million, at that) I'm confident solo Hulk films could be pulled off for more or less the same.

It's all about who you have attached to the project. But it can definitely be pulled off without breaking the bank.

I believe they're talking about a tv series. Like what marvel once had planned.

Yeah I was. I know he needs his own film again.

Could be but i think I'd rather have another movie or two.

Oh yeah, most definitely. I was just saying that with the right people a TV series could be pulled off without costing an arm and a leg...and a full body. But I'd definitely prefer a movie. The Hulk needs another solo movie badly.

I think Ruffalo will be around for a while. He might get one in the phase after IW2.

I don't know, I'm hoping for something sooner than that. That would be another four years from now and would make 11 years since TIH & over 8 from the first Avengers.

Not saying they have to rush it but if they really plan on putting out a solo Hulk film it should be before then.

The plan seems set up to that point though. The schedule's pretty full.
