Probably taking about universals distribution rights. If they're still in effect.

Ah, okay. Understandable then.

I would hope they aren't, though.

If that's the case then that sucks but I'll just be grateful and happy about the fact that we'll at least consistently see him throughout the Avengers films. Not to mention any other appearances he makes outside of TA movies.

Indeed. Though I kind of hope that if he's confined to being a supporting character, he gets a role similar to Widow in TWS. Given that we've sort of been told he'll show up throughout Phase 3 (as well as Widow herself), that could be what we'll be getting. Not sure which solo film I'd be most excited to see him in.

If they can work the Crossroads into Strange's story (and in a way that complements the whole thing, of course, don't want any de-railing), that may be the perfect place to have Bruce and the Hulk side line.

Oh yeah, there are lots of possibilities. Though, I must say if Marvel had the rights to the Fantastic Four it'd be nice to see Bruce working alongside Reed & the rest of the team. That would be interesting.

But since that's out of the question (for now, anyway) I'd like to see him in either a Doctor Strange or Iron Man film...or both. Since we'll eventually get an Iron Man 4 (and he's made a cameo in part three) it could be nice to see him working alongside Stark in a film that isn't TA.

Hulk is a harder guy to have sideline in your film than Widow unfortunately.

Hulk can take out some villains for other characters by himself while Widow is a more likely ally. Same goes for the likes of Hawkeye & Falcon. Hulk is always an A player while those others can fit in more easily as B level when the situation demands it. Of course non-Hulk Banner can fit in with no issue.

hopefully the rapport between Banner and other teammates will be worked on: Thor, Hawkeye, Cap.

Simple, occupy Hulk with a powerful ally of the main villain, while the lead character takes care of the main villain.

It'd be like how Loki had to take care of Kurse for Thor.

The problem is that the "henchman" villain would have to be more powerful than the main villain, since Hulk is basically the biggest powerhouse on the team.

Aside from that, from a production angle, Hulk is a lot more work for a VFX team.

Hulk will overshadow other guys. Banner can show up anywhere as a science bro support but Hulk is the superstar. He can only play wingman to Thor in Asgard or a team like GotG. At least we'll get to see him as the superstar of the main event. That's still 3 films in 4 and a half years.

I'm not understanding you...yeah, Hulk is a top-tier character but that doesn't mean he couldn't appear alongside another hero. Comparing him to Black Widow doesn't really help, considering she's a spy & a normal human and he's a giant mutated monster.

The scenarios would be so very different if Hulk were to help out another hero that it's almost pointless to even compare them. The Hulk could fit in anywhere, it's just a matter of great writing & having a creative mind. He has over 50 years worth of history to pull from.

I guess the issue is why would the Hulk just sit on the sidelines while you're getting your ass kicked? If he takes care of his guy and sees you over there getting throttled, if he views you as a friend he'll jump in and beat the **** out of your adversary.

I'm sure that Dr. Strange's Villain are powerful enough to handle Hulk. Even the ones not named Dormammu.

The only problem that I have with this tread is that everyone talks as if every battle that the Hulk has with any one will be a cake walk.

Hulk is powerful, but hardly invincible. There have been numerous characters who've given him a run for his money in the comics, and a few have even beaten him. In the films, I'd be fine with Ultron, in his upgraded form, being able to fight the Hulk more or less as an equal. And if Thanos DOESN'T swat Hulk away like a bug when they first meet, then I'll call BS.

That's why Ultron and Thanos are Avengers villains rather than Cap villains. If Hulk turns up in TWS to lend Steve a hand suddenly the villain doesn't seem so cool and dangerous. But Widow, Falcon, Hawkeye, Mockingbird etc don't have the same dampening effect.

Hulk's power level is a much better fit for a Strange, GotG2 or Thor. Anywhere where he won't just automatically overshadow both the villain and the hero.

I'm pretty sure nobody has ever suggested he should have a supporting role in a Captain America movie beyond maybe appearing in Civil War.

And I wouldn't want him in GOTG either...they're far, far from Earth right now so changing that just to throw Hulk in there would be a little messy. I do believe the best fit would be a Doctor Strange movie.

If the villain is Dormammu, or Shuma-Gorath, then Hulk stands no chance. Heck Shuma is so ridiculously powerful that there usually has to be some massive plot-contrivance in order to beat him. "He's only at a TINY fraction of his full power when he's not in his home dimension" or "here's some deus ex machine spell/artifact that can stop him" or "we didn't actually BEAT him, we just prevented him from crossing over into our dimension" and so on.

Ok I misunderstood, sorry. An appearance in Strange would be fine with me.

What's the power difference between Dormammu and his sister Umar? Hulk's fought her a few times.

Zom would be a good pick for a Strange/Hulk villain.

That's why a proper a Defenders movie based on the comic would've been ideal. There were real powerhouses on their team with the likes of Namor, Silver Surfer, Valkyrie, etc and their villains were too. There were characters like Nebulon they could've fought:
