I'm pretty sure Whedon's doubts about Hulk supporting a solo movie have nothing to do with him thinking the Hulk is only good for Man on the Run stories. It has more to do with the things that made the Hulk work in Avengers not really being extendable to a solo movie; in particular, the ability to bounce him off other strong personalities.

Then give him strong supporting characters to bounce off of.

Hawkeye has great potential. She-Hulk has great potential. Hell, throw Amadeus Cho in there while you're at it.

I can't believe the all powerful think tanks behind the Marvel movies seriously can't muster the creativity to produce a distinct, fresh and fun Hulk movie.

I'm sure they *can*. Its just also a matter of priorities, cost-benefit, and risk-reward.

Id guess if MCU made another Hulk film with Mark it would do really well. Its not like it would lose money cuz people love that character. But another aspect is that he seems to actually work best when hes part of a group. Its like hes the special ingredient, so when hes unleashed it gets everyone excited like its a rock concert. Id rather him stay in that position than be over/misused and have it just lose its impact.

I guess I'd at least like to hear that there's a script or two being evaluated. I want to know it's on the table and not just their last resort for franchises past.. say, Phase 10, or however far they dare to go.

I just think that while, yes, Bruce/Hulk is a special ingredient in Avengers, I think he can be a standalone course. Maybe when they the show yet again in AoU, the studio will consider taking the risk.

though to be honest, Ruffalo's voice kinda bothered me on the "puny god" line
he's either gotta get that rage to come thru in the voice, or just let Fred Tatasciore (sp?) do it

He wasn't raging when he said that, it was more of a casual one-liner. He doesn't need to scream everything.

Yep he was like "pfft whatever" to Loki. He was a bit more like Bruce at that point than Hulk too.

Mark just has such a smooth voice on that line that it sounded a little jarring to hear it come out of the Hulk

Speaking of*Hulk*and the proposed sequels that seemingly fell off the slate once they recast the character for a third time, Lou Ferrigno told a local radio station in Minnesota that Marvel is- indeed- planning another solo film. After talking about how Ruffalo's Hulk was the "star of the movie" in the first Avengers, claiming he "saved the day," the actor said, "Now because he saved the day they're making another solo Hulk movie after the second Avengers comes out.

Many have wondered if Marvel would revisit the Hulk as a solo franchise after the raucous reception to his appearance in*The*Avengers. It's also been a mystery if they'd pick up where Ed Norton's film ended, or if they'd start fresh (again). But with Norton's version being officially part of the MCU's*canon, with Robert Downey Jr appearing at the end of it, and Ruffalo referring to that film's climax in*Avengers, it's going to be interesting to see how they continue the story

I hope he is right about a sequel, I know he's made these statements before though.

I want Hulk and Banner on screen in equal portions this time.

If they actually show that Hulk has his own personality this time around, instead of just being 'Banner angry' then this may make the GE more receptive to a solo Hulk film.

Thats true. I feel like hulk will have more to do this time around. And I hope he speaks a but more. I know its expensive and tough to sell but I hope they at least try.

I think Ruffahulk is the best Hulk so I'm happy that Bruce/Hulk will be getting some more screentime, I especially hope we get more scenes of him and Tony working together. (I love the science bros)
