Would you be opposed to this idea?

Why or why not?

I dont think you shouldve put this in the thread title. Even if it is just a rumor

It's not a HUGE plot spoiler but some, like myself wouldve preferred not to know

Since it's a rumor, it's not really a spoiler. Also, I have a very hard time believing it to be true.

But then, I didn't believe the rumors when they said Deadpool would have his mouth sewn shut and have baraka blades in his arms when Wolverine: Origins came out...so what do I know?

Just have Peter make them. I feel like if Tony makes them, it just glorifies his character excessively. Like a "Tony Stark saves the day again" type of thing.

Well, it really doesn't make sense, especially if this is Tony's first time meeting Pete.
"Hey kid, we've never met before, but here's some tech that perfectly compliments you're already weird bug-like skill set. I don't even know why I was making them, since they really serve no purpose compared to all the other weapons I have, but yeah...here ya go."

I'm fine with Pete using Tony's tech/advice to upgrade them, but the design should be his.

Eh.. not to be rude but did this really need it's own thread?

When Lee and Ditko had Peter create the Webshooters, it was meant to showcase Peter's intelligence, the Webshooters and webfluid were like a natural byproduct of Peter's brilliant mind. They're part of Peter's character IMO.

Now having Stark create Peter's Webshooters/Webfluid is both a horrible idea and a slap in the face to the character. Why can't there be more than one ****ing genius in the MCU? why does Stark have to take credit for things that he had absolutely NOTHING to do with in the source material? Why does Stark have to overshadow every ****ing hero in the MCU? I can't be the only one who's seriously sick of Iron Man.

I swear to God, I'm going to be so angry if Marvel tries to downplay T'Challa's intelligence in favor of Stark. And God help Reed Richards when he inevitable joins the MCU.

Calling it right now. This rumor is just bs clickbait to rile up the fanboys.

For the sake of the thread, "Depends on execution".

However, Spidey's been doing his thing for a bit now as Feige stated already. Why would Tony make something of his he already has? Unless, of course, he would only advance 'em ala the cartoon of Ultimate Spider-Man.

Honestly, it wouldn't matter that much. It actually would make all the sense in the world given how high tech the web shooter is.

I could see Peter having a clunky, home made version (due to his lack of resources) an Tony making a more streamline compact version, after his first time seeing Spidey in action(rather it be in person, or seeing footage of him in the news)

as long as the idea of them is inspired by Peter/Spider-man

it should be his design, his idea, but he just couldn't make (a properly functioning version) of them himself with his limited resources

First did we really need a whole new thread on this rumor. As we have been talking about it in the news thread. Second no i dont want stark making peter webshooters, or THE SUIT. Allowing peter to use some equipment/tech sure, making the iron spider suit in the future fine. But no to him just giving peter shooters/the suit. I said this many times before i feel it would totally undermine the character of peter and i wouldnt want to see them dumb down peter at all.

I have no problem with Tony manufacturing them, I do dislike the idea of Tony inventing them. I don't think it'll be true (I'm not sure Spider-Man will be in enough scenes to justify a scene essentially for this moment either).

The poll won't mean anything when Tony ends up either giving or helping him with his webshooters...

You know what I don't have a problem with Tony upgrading the stuff he has. What I do have a problem with is him building/making the stuff Peter has. Peter should make his first suit and webshooters. If Tony upgrades it later on fine, but I don't want Civil War to be Iron Man and Spider-The Boy Wonder.

I don't see it being real. Again remember kr said it. Their record since el left been bad. And come on you think after all the talk kevin has said that is right for spidey. They would just make it be stark creates a d make everything and peter looses what makes him so key.

No, Pete's ingenuity in making we shooters is part of the character.

Well, at least Hank Pym won't be alone any more. Pete, join the club of Tony stealing your ideas,

In phase six Tony Stark invents a time machine and we discover that he went back in time to give the Chinese blueprints on how to build the first rockets. Thereby being the father of the cornerstone of war for a thousand years.

So stark builds Ultron and all of a sudden he's been responsible for every single thing in the MCU.. cool

Can't wait to see how Stark undermines T'Challa and possibly Reed.

Woah, woahh.. I seriously don't get it. You realize that in the context of the MCU, stark building Ultron makes sense? You can blame Edgar Wright if you want, since he took so long to make Ant-man and then when he dropped out it delayed it further. So basically the MCU was stuck with no Hank Pym but with an Avengers 2 and the only real option for a villain was Ultron. So obviously they would go for the scientist that's already been established and developed vs. putting in a new undeveloped character that also wouldn't fit in with the mcu's AOU story in any way. And also clashes with the ant-man movie that's already been in development hell. And besides that what else has happened that he steals the thunder?? The climax of the Avengers? It was written that way because it was the most dramatic ending! Tony is the character that audiences have seen the most and he also has the chance not to die, and to carry over the traumatic experience into his other movies. You can squeeze the most dramatic potential out of that scene by involving Stark. That what makes it work! Think about it under the circumstances that they have to go through and the decisions they've made make sense.
