Running Scared

Gene Hackman rules but do you really think Jack had a wide range? I think Harrison Ford had a wide range but now all of his roles seem the same. I loved Mosquito Coast, Indiana Jones, Hanover Street, Star Wars, etc...

[Harrison Ford]Get Off My Plane![Harrison Ford]

lol

Advaced Dark got really mad simply because I pointed out that a thread on this film alrerady existed. Get testy much? It is very common for a lot of Hype posters to let people know when they are creating multiple threads on the same topic.

Why he/she got so irate is beyond me....However, he/she knows squat about movies and is a testy little brat, so.....

For the record, anyone who doubts Jack Nicholson's range clearly hasn't seen any films that were made before 1980.

Gotta love it:

No offense, but when you post things like this it makes you sound very childish.

jag

^ I'm sick of the dude. He just got under my skin and he just keeps going so I had to put him on ignore and I'm making it clear I'm not gonna respond directly to him anymore. Childish...nah. ;)

Keep it civil in here please, guys.

Yes, I got under his skin simply because I pointed out that a thread on this subject already existed - no more/no less.

This was the original post that seem to make Advanced Dark so upset.

Yeah, I really did something awful to get under this child's skin.

It is quite common to point out multiple threads and the decent response is to say, "my bad I didn't do a search" not attack the person.

Advanced Dark really had no reason at all to get so upset.

Looking back at the quotes I can agree with this. But hey whatever floats Advaned Darks boat. Especially since it seems ADs thread GOT MERGED with THE OTHER THREAD reggiebar talked about.

^ I have no problem with it being merged. The thread was clearly overlooked by me but it was a month old and honestly for someone to get so irritated and annoyed by that is ridiculous. What he should have done is said:

Hey AD there's another thread on this right here (insert link) in case you didn't know. Great flick huh? Let's keep the old thread going.

Then I'd say oh I missed that I'll ask the mods to merge it.

I don't need to be told "next time do a search".

Case closed. As far as I'm concerned it is closed so let's stop talking about it already and stick to the topic ok. The dispute is in the past and he's on my iggy list to prevent further disputes. This is not the let's state our opinion of Advanced Dark thread. LOL

So him saying there was another thread on your subject made him annoyed ? Your the ridiculous one it seems. That happens all the time at Hype. If you stop & take a look it seems YOUR the one that is getting annoyed based on one little statement

It's over...Enough J/O move on. This is the Running Scared thread. Nobody asked you to jump in and reopen the dispute.

If you have nothing to contribute to this thread regarding the film...you're not wanted here.

Everyone reading this thread let this be a lesson to either use the search or actually go back a few pages.

Exactly. Thanks. I didn't call him insulting names or try to belittle him. I merely stated that this topic already existed.

Of course, Advanced Dark then proceeded to try to belittle me and even went so far as to post a picture calling me a cry baby for following simple Hype protocol of trying to keep multiple threads on the same subject to a minimum.

Jack Nicholson does (or did) have a wide range, but the characters he needs to play well have to be off a bit.

Certainly. I also think that part of the situation with Jack is that he has become such a larger than life celebrity over the years off camera that the audience might find it hard to not see "JACK" in the movie despite how well he may be playing the character.

STOP the bickering and baiting. NOW. Get back on topic.

^ I think he had some range but I never thought of him as a very diverse wide ranged actor. I've seen pretty much all of his films and with the exception of a few of his romantic comedies he's done in the last 10 years he's pretty much been the "off" character and that's what made him famous. He's clearly not in a rut like Stallone I'm not saying that. I just think an actor like Harrison Ford, Michael Douglas, Alec Guiness, Ian McKellen, and actually Tom Jane all have tremendous range whether you like their work or not. Jack has been in many different genre films but the character itself is usually not to far off his beaten path. Gotta love Jack though. Again this is my opinion and it's not worth more than anyone elses.

Back to Running Scared. If you wanna talk about Jack let's start a Nicholson thread...or is there already one here. :)

Let's talk about Running Scared now. LOL

I recently watched "Five Easy Pieces" and "The Last Detail" again and was thinking how much of ashame it is that he became JACK because he really is a great actor.

Wow...what happened to this thread. LOL. Anyway...I still think this movie is one of the most under rated of the year. I think it might become a cult movie one day.
