Dark Phoenix Running time revealed.

I saw the movie with the new third act. I would say that this is just about 10-20 minutes longer than what I saw so it may not be official can but its absolutely not whatever that dude on Twitter was saying. The old and new third act are about the same in length but different in content from what I’ve been told since I haven’t seen the old one first hand.

I just hope it's as good as X-Men Apocalypse was to me. But the very least I hope is better than X-men 3. Having Cyclops in this story instead of Wolverine is pretty awesome already. I just hope they can deliver some amazing action scenes like Avengers Infinity War and Endgame did. Since is the last X-Men movie for a really long time. I think that next X-Men movie could be 10 years from now.

Glad to know I'm not the only one around here that liked Apocalypse.

To me, "Apocalypse" is just the most comic book-ish entry of the franchise and the "perfect X-Men movie" so far. It was fantastic from start to finish. The criticism is truly beyond me.

I respect your opinion, but I don’t understand the adoration, either. It’s not terrible, but it’s not good. There’s fantastic pieces that just never come together. It’s an absolute disappointment for me.

I can get it being criticized, but I definitely don't understand the EXTREME negative reaction. To the point that people act like this series is dead and buried. Not to keep comparing this to the MCU. However, why is the MCU allowed to make x amount of mediocre films and people still flock to the Avengers films regardless but when this series puts out Apocalypse,which is ok at worst, everybody turns their backs on it? It's mystery to me. Sorry to derail the thread.

Imho Apocalypse is better than almost all mcu movies.

Yes, it has several negative points(cgi at start, some disney-ish sketch, some poor scenes like the re-born of A), but It has Aldo great Moment.
And imho the Apocalypse villain is visually way better than the original hypetrophic comic book characters.

About It i find very funny (ti be kind) how disney get its fan's brains works where they all criticize Apocalypse to be like Power Ranger's villain and then they have Thanos that is both visually and stupid way more like Power ranger-ish.

The majority of the criticism surrounding Apocalypse's design comes from that stupid EW picture that was first released.

Apocalypse didnt reach the high narrative standard Xmen movies have set likes of First Class, DOFP and Logan around it reached. The story is too generic with little subtext. But its not a ''really bad'' movie.

Regarding the run time, if it is indeed 1hr 54min, then hopefully its pacing makes it feel 20 minutes longer.

I think the run time of Dark Phoenix is 1 hour and 54 minutes. I saw one guy on twitter pre order his ticket in the UK. He posted a pic of the running time of the movie. Where I live there's no pre order yet.

I don't want any spoilers. But there's a rumor going on that the re shots of the movie actually downgraded the movie from 2 hours and 41 minutes to 1 hour and 54 minutes and also they changed the whole third act by changing the location of the climax of the movie. It felt like Fox had already spent too much money on the movie so they didn't want to spend more to properly fix everything.

We're going to get luck if Dark Phoenix turn out to be better than Apocalypse.

These type of movies have to be heavy on the action and visual effects. Is just as important as the story. My God, I still can't believe the amazing action scenes that I saw in both Avengers Infinity War and Endgame. No X-Men movie ever accomplished action and visual effect scenes like that. And I'm a fan of the X-Men, and hater of the Avengers.

And the reshot third act was cut to about the same length as the original one. More actually happens in the reshot version that the old one so for the old one to be 41 minutes longer is ridiculous.

Exactly. Not to mention, I remember a commonly cited weak point of the movie by critics is Apocalypse.

The actor hated playing him too.

You can't blame this one on the MCU, fans. TIME named it worst movie of the year. Movie was a turd.

I think that the actor that played Apocalypse, even though is a great actor, he was not fit for the part. It happens. No every actor is fit to play every role.

They should have used another actor for Apocalypse. And his voice as Apocalypse was another let down. Apocalypse doesn't speak softly like that. He was too sweet to be Apocalypse. But even though I hated the actor that played Apocalypse, the movie itself was amazing. Like for example, I don't like the actress that plays Captain Marvel, but that didn't make me hate Endgame movie.

I think the casting is more about getting a good actor who could pull off the performance desired and letting them play the part. i don't get the impression it was ever about voice, height, or appearance.

I have to agree because I don't think they got much story to tell in this movie. Only a huge cast like Day of Future Past or Infinity War or Endgame deserves a movie that long.

When MCU makes the first X-Men movie it'll probably be that long like almost 3 hours. I hope they start the first MCU X-Men movie with the original 5 X-men.
