yeah i guess you cant blame him at the same time...

he just obviously prefers sitting on his ass all day than acting.

True. True.

I wonder if we'll ever see him again after this movie. Meh.

the problem i have with Tucker getting so much money is that he hasn't made any flicks for at least 5 years and, even though he's the main source of comedy, he doesn't do NEARLY as much physical work as Jackie. if Tucker makes a come back and starts making more films or doing something then i wouldn't mind so much...but asking that much when you've been out of the loop for a while is pretty egotistical imo.
he asked for he money and tehy gave him. its not hes fault. studios are dumb enough t give so much money. if they wouldnt gave so muhc money ot him the first time he asked he would do it for less.

tucker is living the dream . he is smart ....they are dumb IMO.

If I could sit for 5 years and get another 8 figure paycheck, I'd really reconsider doing it because I just wouldn't feel right.

:D hahahahahahahaha, I'm sorry, I couldn't say that with a straight face.

i think i dont understnad you.

it was wrong from him that he asked for to much money?

DAMN...

Well...

...on the plus side, he does give to charity.

Yeah, Tucker said himself that visits countries and gives to charity. So it's not like he keeps that money to himself...

The promotion for this film kinda sucks. It comes out Friday. You'd think you hear more about.

I think it's just fine. Both Tucker and Chan were on Leno, Conan, Letterman, Kimmel and Tucker was on TRL. I think promotion for the film is just fine. And I thin both will show up on other talk shows.

the movie hasnt been getting good reviews....i hope i'd still like it....

Apparently Tucker isn't going to be vanishing off the radar again... in the new interview with him over at CHUD, he mentions that he's already got his next movie lined up, a comedy called "Mr. President" about the first black president. So basically, it's "Head of State," except replace Chris Rock with Chris Tucker. :whatever:

I like Tucker more than Rock. Maybe his movie will be better? Not that Head of State was bad. Think it was so-so or ok.

Head of State was about the campaign. Tucker's would be about the aftermath, and what he does while in office.

If Tucker's really getting back into the acting game, more power to him. I know some people can't stand him, but I like him. He even did a good job of just "acting" when he was in Dead Presidents, and the role didn't call for him to be comic relief, althought it was funny as s**t when they were talking about their plan to heist the armored car, and he punched out Bokeem Woodbine so hard, he fell outta his chair!!

I don't have a problem with Chris Tucker, I just don't understand how some people call him "overrated" when he hasn't really done much of anything other than this movie.

They're just pissed because he can sit around for 6 years and then command an A-list asking price. They don't think he's worth it. But New Line does.

I remember hearing about this movie either right before or after Rush Hour 2 came out. I was thinking it got cancelled because people would find it too similar to Head Of State.

New Line always had this movie with Tucker.
It was included in either his RH2 or RH3 contract that he'd do the RH sequel and another New Line film.

Rush Hour was exactly a really good film, while Rush Hour 2 really wasn't, but that's not why I like these films. I like them solely on the comedy. I watch these films to laugh (and I still laugh everytime I watch these films), not to be amazed by Brett Ratner's directing.

LA Weekly's 7-page profile on Brett Ratner is really interesting. I think they oversell the possibility that Ratner might actually be a director worth taking seriously... and yet he also says some things that indeed make me take him more seriously than I ever would have before. He shows that he knows how to shoot action and comedy by talking about how you do it, and being precisely right in what he says. If you have some time to kill, you could do a lot worse than reading this.
