After The Sunset and Red Dragon. Terrible movies he made.

Sure, it was kinda bland, but Red Dragon was better than Hannibal (sub-par film directed by the great Ridley Scott). Red Dragon was a good film. It was a worthy edition to the Hannibal lore.

Manhunter > Red Dragon, Hannibal, and Hannibal Rising.

Brett Ratner wasn't the breath of fresh air to the X-men franchise that defenders claimed he would be.

To be fair, Ratner came onto an established franchice, and everything was pretty much already in place for the third installment. S**t, he was a replacement director for the original replacement director, and there was only so much he could do. Any defense I offered Ratner was from people under the delusion that he's some terrible filmmaker comparable to the likes of Uwe Boll.

Ratner's mouth writes checks his ass can't cash.

"I was born to do this movie."

Perhaps, comparing Red Dragon and Manhunter depends on personal taste, but the latter was a worthy addition and only good film (aside from Silence) in the Hopkins line of films.

And I never ever said that Brett Ratner comment.

Same here.

i loved after the sunset,
very good movie and cast

I never said that. I enjoyed Money Talks. I liked the Rush Hour films when they came out.

But you know this is just like, ugh enough.

The man is a commercial mainstream hack, plain and simple. I'm not going to make up excuses about X-men 3. I'm simply holding him accountable for what he had to say about the movie. He and what the writers say about Rogue seriously just ticks me off.

Well, the X3 commentary is god-awful terrible. I definitely agree. :csad: :down

Saw it today...

i went in thinking i might've gotten tired of the rush hour jokes, but
the movie was actually great!

The action above all has definatly improved.... Brett Ratner is improving, unlike most directors.
the comedy was lacking though. But the entertainment value made up for it.

6.5 out of 10 as a movie.... and thats really high for a comedy to me.(i usually dont rate horror or comedies too high)

=) the summer of trilogies is officially over

I caught the tail end of Rush Hour 2 last night, and you know, even though I haven't watched it since it was in theaters, I think I forgot just how solidly entertaining that movie was. The entire bit with the bomb in Jackie's mouth is great, even if it does recall the opening to Temple of Doom a bit too much at times.

The scene at the massage parlor always makes me laugh, not just the beginning with the doors sliding open and buffet time begins(I tear up everytime that scene happens, just secretly wishing it was me. :o)

Carter: Ricky. Ricky Tan! Let's go man, come on...I been lookin' all over for you, come on.

XD

I love the scene with Don Cheadle, and the stuff with Tucker and Zhang Ziyi. And I think just about every man who's seen the movie wishes that was them in front of the rows of ladies.

The one that pushes up her boobs and Tucker's reaction to it = LOL.

you can tell he was eating chicken when talking....

half the time i think he hired a double to talk for him....

I love the scene in rush Hour 2 where he's fighting one of the guys with the towels and Carter pulls one of the Asian dudes towels off..

He looks at the guy naked
Carter: " No wonder you MAD!"
Carter then slaps the guy in the uhh...lower area with the towel and the dudes knocked out LOL I always laugh at that ...:woot:

[That scene in Rush Hour 3] from my personal experience. My first blow job was from a man, but I didn’t know it was a man. That’s where that comes from. It’s based on personal experience. That happens to a lot of heterosexuals. I’m not homophobic or uptight about it. You meet a girl in a bar, and it turns out she’s not a girl.

I like the commentary on Rush Hour 2, where Ratner said that he and Tucker actually when to a karaoke place in Hong Kong and Chris got up and started singing and all the asian guys there were giving him mean looks.

^^ Ummm...sorry Ratner, I have never experienced that one

It's Hollywood. Most straight guys that go there will have at least once before they die.

It is just the way he describes the situation. As if every guy confuses a guy for a chick and gets a bj from them.

If you have any intention of seeing Rush Hour 3, you NEED to go to Best Buy.

If you go back to the DVD section, you'll find that, in the comedy section under 'R,' they have cases for Rush Hour 3.

These cases contain a ticket to the movie. The cover price at my local store says "$6.99."

That cover price is WRONG. The case rings up as $4.99.

5 bucks to get a ticket worth up to $10.50!

OR... if you want to buy a copy of either of the first two Rush Hour flicks, which are currently going for $9.99.. you'll get the case with the ticket for FREE. Which basically means you'll spend $5 on the movie ticket worth $10.50, and another $5 - the price of a rental at Blockbuster - to OWN a copy of either Rush Hour film.

I actually felt like a criminal as I left the store. :woot:
