The Dark Knight Ryan Phillippe Talks Harvey Dent

Interesting, seemed to know more than he let on me thinks.

So...basically the same thing Hulme and every other Joker hopeful that didn't get cast said. :o

Well he certainly seems to be interested enough to know a lot about the film. "Not even a finished script yet"? For a guy who's only been "rumored, he sure does keep up with the news. And he outright dodged the question on whether or not he's been approached. He did say that he didn't know where those "internet rumors come from" but apparently that's a non-denial denial.

Perhaps he screen-tested for the role or had talks with Nolan but nothing's been set in stone yet or maybe Nolan is looking at his choices and has yet to make his decision.

I doubt he will getn this role.

There must be another actor, who hasn't been rumoured yet.

Well, such as many Americans during this time of year, I partake in the viewing and fandom of the National Football League.

If I had known it'd be so unsettling to you, I would've written ahead first to let you know or something.

OK, I just watched the video again more closely and he says in the end "at this stage, there's nothing". He's most certainly interested in the role, but you guys can now strike him off as a probable candidate in the running. Good thing that it will end a lot of petty bickering on these boards.

he really did appear to be stumbling with an answer, i think if he was telling the truth he'd have been much more composed in his answer.

Upon reading the title of the thread my heart skipped a beat because i would not like him to get this role.

Whew that was a close one.....

Actually, it sounds like to me he was telling the truth. I dont think he has been approached, honestly. He didn't really seem that knowledgeable on the movie, other than when talking about the script. It's entirely possible though that when his name was mentioned in connection to the movie, his agent called up WB to find out what the situation was, and they told him the script wasn't finished yet, and that they wouldn't be looking into casting until later... and thats why he gave the answer he gave. He sounded like Hulme, interested, but not yet approached. To me it really sounds like these Phillippe rumors were just that, rumors.

I wouldn't mind him being Dent, I think he's a very underaprreciated actor. Although if I had my first choice it would be Guy Pierce.

I think its going to go to an unknown. And I know exactly who.

Bob Smith.

Who's Bob Smith? What's he been in?

He's really an unknown. So unknown that he hasn't been in anything. Other than the bank I work for. :woot:

Seriously, though, I think Phillippe isn't a good poker player but Nolan is. It could be anybody at this point. My potential list at this point is:

Phillippe

Pearce

Schieber

Owen

I think it will be one of those four.

I don't think Nolan will choose so unknown actor.

There must be actor with Pearce's or Jackman's status.

Well at least people have opened up to the idea of Phillipe as Dent so when he's cast people wont be surprised like the LEdger casting news.

Schreiber's the only one from that list I'd want.

And I'm not even sure I want Schreiber any more.

I've been stewing on that Wahlberg idea somebody brought up last week and it's growing on me.

If Jett is right and the part has been cast, that probably means he didn´t get the role. If he was trying to be evasive, probably would have said something like, "I can´t comment on that".

But you know what, it looks to me like Phillippe has grown, he doesn´t look quite as boyish in that video as he did in Cruel Intentions - which is where I think a lot of the hate comes from.

I will be a happy man if its Pierce or Owen.

I think it should be an actor who could have played Batman as well. So that would I guess also included Hugh Jackman.

Hey, its possible.

I'd be cool with Phillippe getting the part if they were actually going to shove half of his face in acid or something.
