You're right, I don't understand. I don't understand how people can't give all movies a chance to prove themselves instead of jumping to rash conclusions.

There's a huge difference between giving F4 chance despite the changes to Doom and giving this bile a chance and you know that

please stop comparing this to F4. they are totally different. F4 with the exception of Doom was true to the comics. The history of the F4 is basically comedic so for people to say the movie is off is false.

Whether people care about the Green Lantern comic or not, a trailer that features a pudgy guy in tights doing silly s*** with a magic ring isn't going to lull people into the theatres anymore than putting Halle Berry in a skimpy outfit and having her fight an evil cosmetics company is going to guarantee a sold-out box office.

Besides, as soon as people see "Goofy Loser turns superhero starring hit comedian", they're going to say, "It's another rip-off of the mask...but with a ring".

And the reason that Fantastic Four didn't bomb was because there are people who don't care about who Dr. Doom is....and they thought the 4 were cool. Besides, if you'll go back and check the records, Fantastic Four had one of the biggest second week drop-offs ever.

But it still made money, which is all that matters. It also made a ton on DVD. Many people loved this film, especially kids!

No, I can't see into the future, but I can use logic, common sense, and deductive reasoning based on precedence to determine the chances of this film succeeding ar eabou tequal to the chance that you'll start making posts using the aforementioned attributes in your completely in your intellect-deprived posts.

I am in NO way a huge Green Lantern fan, but this is just rotten. I enjoy the idea of Green Lantern, and the mythology is quite interesting. Doing this to characters like Green Lantern, even IF they are seen by the studio heads as of low level interest. I mean, this is a very unique character, something that is SORELY lacking in movies today. I mean, as has been said before, this has the makings of something epic like Star Wars with a mythology to match. It might even be better that the character is not as well known, because it might be even more well received if it is not perceived to be a "comic" character. But, the space-influence and general creative/CGI-oriented element of the Green Lantern would really make for an amazing film. On the other hand, something along the lines of Shazam, or Green Arrow (don't flame me, I LOVE Green Arrow) would be seen as "been there - done that" and too corny. That would not be the case at all with GL. I don't know, but even if I'm not an all-out GL lover, I respect the character enough to know this is a bunch of garbage. If the WB actually goes through with this, I will hate them even more than I already do. I mean, we have B & R, CINO, and now this? Horrible. I still haven't forgiven them for Catwoman. What a horrible excuse for a comic adaptation...or even for a movie!

It doesn´t matter if the movie makes tons of money and puts Titanic to shame, this script is just wrong, for all reason in the world.

After reading the reviews the only thing that comes to mind is Hal Jordan and the rest of the GGs, tied to a table, naked, with Jack Black and Co. ass raping him, and saying to all the others, "You´re next".

It´s sad, worthy of tears, the Green Lantern didn´t deserved it.
This is far worst than Catwoman, because, at least Catwoman tried to be movie, even if changing everything....this one is simply mocking the GG mythos.

But, i don´t believe this will ever happen...

Dude..."Loonatics" was an abomination, for sure. There was NO need to "revitalize" the characters for the new generation....hell, they all knew who Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck were anyway! Those classic 'toons are timeless...as are classic icons like Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and Catwoman....all which they have or have tried to destroy at one point or another.
