The Dark Knight Ryan Phillippe Talks Harvey Dent

I'd be cool with Phillippe getting the part if they were actually going to shove half of his face in acid or something.

Wow! You must hate Phillippe? :wow:

After watching that clip, I'm more open to the idea of Phillipe playing Harvey. Still not totally convinced though.

Anyone who could still play a highschool student w/ out arousing suspicion should not play harvey Dent

I made another funny hahahahaha. -- Master Splinter

He definitely knows more than he's letting on. What he knows is up for debate.

Schreiber's the only one from that list I'd want.

And I'm not even sure I want Schreiber any more.

I've been stewing on that Wahlberg idea somebody brought up last week and it's growing on me.

If someone had said Wahlberg last week I would have laughed at them but since seeing The Departed I'm coming round. I used to think he was Mr Bland but that performance impressed me. Still nowhere near my first choice though.

Phillippe seems nice enough but I'd be really confused if he got the role, not his thing. He looks like he knows nothing about it from the video, not even in a wink wink way.

Look I think the best way to go is just have Bale play Dent. Bale would be a perfect Dent, a perfect Two-Face, and a perfect Joker!

Hey Eddie Murphy played like...15 characters in one his movies, I think Bale could handle three. (Well 5 if you count Batman/Bruce, Dent/Two-Face, and Joker.)

If you ask me, Wahlberg looks even more like Sale's Dent than Schreiber or anybody else mentioned.

Marky Mark dam near stole the show in Departed . . . but ironically, after watching his performance I was convinced that he's not the right choice for Two-Face . . . his voice is kind of, uhhhhhhhh sissy?

DiCaprio for Dent . . . gottam that guy is shaping up to be one of our generation's greatest actors . . . . he's turning into our Bobby D.

Mark's voice is fine for Harvey...I'd be concerned about how hhis Two-Face would turn out, but they can do hella awesome stuff with vocal effects these days. If they mixed him real low as Face it could kick ass.

I can see it, and it'd probably kick ass. But I don't think it'll happen.

DiCaprio would be a solid choice, but I doubt it will happen as well. Too big of a name - but you never know....

When I saw the thread title I was so expecting the first post to continue with

Video Interview coming soon from BOF

:o

DiCaprio would probably give a fantastic performance, but I can't really see Nolan casting him.

As for Phillippe, let's hope to god that it's not him.

philippe doesn't look so young and doll faced anymore:

another thing... keep in mind how make up can make any delicate features darker and heavier... like they did to Hugh Jackman to turn him into Logan for x-men. Jackman is *not* that dark or heavy browed. At all.

i suggested marky mark n hed be sickk

After seeing that clip, and hearing from his agent and whatever, I think we have another rumor to toss into the BS pile, along with Hulme and Paul Bettany for Joker. It is clear the he is intrested (like Hulme and Bettany were) but that he has not seriously been approached, much less cast as Mr. Dent.

i said this a while ago n i stand by it

the role probably has not been cast; but there are prob. a list of actors on a list to be tested once the script is complete; and believe philippie is one of them, an dhe is simply waiting for the script be complete and for an audition.

Has Nolan screen tested any actor for any role outside of Batman in this franchise?

i know holmes and neeson did. but we do need to remember, dent casting is probably more crucial then any other actore in the franchise outside of batman, because it is the second largest role(other then alfre dn bruce) AND the actor has to be able to be a likeable d.a. as well as hateblebqaddie.

so dents casting will be pretty complicated.
