Ryan Reynolds is the Green Lantern

Know I'm abit late with this but I think Reynolds is a great choice, not to mention a surprise. But I also prefer him getting the role then names like Timberlake, etc. And I'm also glad to see this project finally moving along, makes me happy.

Bring on GL.

Well watch The Nines, Chaos Theory or Fireflies in the Garden. Proper films. Not just silly frat comedies and action movies.

And whether the film was pants is irrelevant. Reynolds turned in a great performance in Amityville. Completely against what he was known for at the time.

Ugh! Don't get me started on Chaos Theory right now! I'm pissed at that film.

First, we didn't get it in the UK. No cinema release, no DVD release. So I tried to find it decently priced on Region 1 online. It was either sold out, or would cost me a ridiculous amount. So, when I'm on holiday in San Diego, I go around the places selling DVDs to find it, and none of them have it in stock.

Finally, I resort to finding it uploaded online through Surf The Channel. I get a decent-quality upload of the film on MegaVideo. I'm watching it, really enjoying it. Then 72 minutes into the 80-odd minute film, my MegaVideo feed freezes, saying "You have watched 72 minutes of video. To watch more, wait 1 hour, or upgrade to our premium subscription." I'm not going to sign up and pay for a service I usually go out of my way to avoid using, so I wait for an hour, taking me to near 2am, and I go back to watch the rest of the movie. Only it has to start loading all over again! I realise I'm not going to see this that night, so I leave it until the next day.

The next day, I go back to the MegaVideo upload of Chaos Theory, let it load up for the best part of an hour, and this time I skip right forward to the 71 minute mark, so I'll not be passing the 72 minute view. The remaining 10-15 minutes, I assume, will fall easily within my limit. But after one minute of viewing, I get to 72 minutes on the counter, and again I get "You have watched 72 minutes of video. To watch more, wait 1 hour, or upgrade to our premium subscription." This time I'm not caught out - I keep the window open, so I'll be able to do a quick refresh when the time comes and not have to wait for it to load all over again. I wait for one hour, click refresh.... and get the message "Video removed due to infringement."

So now I still don't know how the film ends, after getting too emotionally invested in seeing how the story turns out to just go and read spoilers. I guess I'm just not meant to see Chaos Theory. :csad:

Ahhhh I hate that megavideo brought that stupid thing in!

I'm from UK too man, I just downloaded a torrent until I can find it for sale somewhere. It's a great film I think, Reynolds is great in it. I love the scene at the start where he is talking to his future son in law about the ups and downs or marriage.

Geoff Johns is also writing the Shazam (Capt.Marvel) film script.

I have it on DVD...:woot: :p

to me, i dont like ryan as hal mostly for the simple fact that he was cast over too people on of which i dont mind and didnt would have rather seen play someone else, and the other being too feminine and not at all what i would want to see hal as. ryan was the best of the three but there is plenty of people i would rather see. thats my most serious problem with this one. aside from that i already said that its not a problem with his acting im sure he could do this role and would actually like to see him, i never said anything about ryan not being capable of playing the role. i dont get wat u dont understand, you said u understood me wanting someones else, other than that its like wat compi716 said its just that im not feelin like he is hal. i dont get how im gripin by statein my opinion louiebling$, except for right now.

Justin Timberlake is feminine? I think he put that whole thing on for his fans.

I heard that Ryan was preparing for the role by burying himself in a box underground in Iraq with only a cell phone to talk to Campbell...

Sounds like the plot to a movie actually...

maaaaaaannn f*** Geoff Johns

Hes good at GL but everything else is :down. I dont want him writing a Flash treatment. Mark Waid shouldve done it. Oh well

Johns wrote some of the best Flash arcs ever. I'm not talking about Barry as I have no interest in him and haven't been reading Rebirth but he did amazing things with Wally. Blitz, ignition etc. His JSA has also been very good.

Yeah thinking about it Johns did create Zoom who I really like and did do some cool stuff with the villains. So yeah I guess hes not bad.
I did neglect alot of the good things he has done for The Flash

Cin0, who are you responding to?

almost everybody on the last page that responded to wat i said. not u though. im tryin not to argue this anymore but they're makin it real hard. the last thing im gonna say about ryan is that at least they picked somebody we wouldnt expect and that i hope i enjoy this movie. i think he'll do a good job and maybe they'll make the perfect choice for kyle whenever he's introduced.

no he's feminine and both real life and his movies. in almost everything ive seen him in he just has to shed a tear somewhere. the way he talks always comes off as gay to me, and he cried when he got punk'd too. i know it was scary for him but i think he was trippin when he started cryin.

Johns has done some pretty cool stuff with GL corps, I just wish him/the rest of DC (aka Didio) weren't so obsessed with bringing back these old characters. Barry should have stayed dead IMHO.

That said, I'm glad Johns has input on the GL script. He has a pretty good handle on what makes Hal Jordan tick.

I can't see how he has time for these damn projects. He's like writing...5 titles, and now he's involved at some capicity of 3 DC movies.

Thats why he loses all the hot girls he gets, Britney, Cameron, may lose Jessica soon too

Yea I can't see how he is gonna be able to put his full effort into everything. He's spreading himself out too much. He should just stick to Blackest Night and having input on the GL and Flash films.

Cooper always struck me as more the Guy Gardenr type anyway.

Confessions of a Rising Star: Bradley Cooper

In losing out to fellow Hollywood hunk Ryan Reynolds (and Bullock's previous co-star) for the superhero lead in 2011's "Green Lantern," Cooper confesses, "It was more of an ego hurt than any sort of artistic one."

poor guy

Ouch :oldrazz:. Guess he really wanted it...

What he is saying is that being Green Lantern wasn't that important to him, but that it hurt to not be the one who was chosen.
