That was the frustrating argument I and others were having with the guy. I was trying to say, "Look, if you don't want to watch the films, fine, no one's forcing you. I think it's a shame you're not even giving them a chance, but that's your choice. My problem isn't that, it's that, even though you choose not to watch the films, you act like you're the definitive authority on them. How can you say the film is crap, or the performances were terrible (and both films had "a cast full of nobodies", apparently), if you haven't seen them for yourself?"
But it was like going around in circles. He just kept on confusing the issue, saying that we couldn't make him watch the movies if he didn't want to. And he kept on returning to the analogy, "If it looks like s**t, and it smells like s**t, I don't have to stick my foot in it to make sure it's s**t." I suggested a more appropriate analogy would be that he's locked himself up in his house and refuses to go outside, because there might be s**t on the sidewalk. But, as he was prone to do to anyone who made a point he couldn't argue with, he just replied with "WRONG! FAIL! EPIC FAIL!"
A charming fellow, I think you'll agree.
